My crappy start to AX....... Or is it....?

So I am totally packed and ready to take off for AX tommorrow.
This afternoon I get a call from the airlines telling me that they
are sorry, but my flight has been cancelled. O_o The soonest
they could get me there was 10:45 tommorrow night. I was
like wahhhh....?? No way, that isn't going to work. I have
friends coming in from Japan, I just can't get there that late.
Sorry, there is nothing we can do. Thank you very much - you
are screwed. >_<

I cancelled my reservation, called a different airline, and $466.00
later, I am on another flight getting there around 12:45. I can
live with the arrival time, however, the $466 pissed me off, since
I only paid $220 originally (knew I should have used frequent
flyer miles). -_- So there goes part of my AX money, since the
$220 won't be credited to my account for another 10 days. I am
really thinking I just want to stay home.

Then the phone rings, its the first airline. They are apologizing
for everything and now they have me on a flight, flying first
class, arriving earlier than I was originally going to arrive, and
they are also going to fly me for free. Yep, they were still refunding
the first ticket. ^_^

Woo Hoo, right?? Oh no - I just paid $466 to another airline for
a ticket - panic sets in. @_@ I pick up the phone and call the
other airline. I try my best to explain the entire situation and
hope that they will understand. They do, and they say they
will refund my entire purchase price. Wow, really?? O_O Not
only that, but since I have had to go through so much trouble
over all of this, they are giving me a $150 travel voucher for
all of my issues that I had. *_*

Now wait a minute, this isn't even the airline that caused the
problem in the first place, and they are giving me a travel
voucher for all my troubles. O_o Do things like that even happen??
I somehow feel I have entered the twilight zone. #_#

Anyway, to sum it all up, I am leaving later, arriving sooner,
flying first class, my first ticket has been refunded, my second
ticket has been refunded, and I have a $150 travel voucher. ^_^

This is either a really good sign of things to come, or a really
bad omen. -_-
