Just adding my two cents in...

1. Be patient. The lines are insane! Although, to be honest, sometimes they move quickly.

2. In the dealer's room: take no prisoners. LOL...

3. Beware the fanboy funk! Again, to be fair, it is possible that the fangirls could be funky too. Just remember it will be crowded and warm and there will be lots of people wearing costumes that don't "breathe" well.

4. Don't forget to eat! If you can, bring snacks and water for line sitting.

5. Have fun, you lucky duck!!!! I will miss AX this year.

HA! That is SOOO true. I've been guilty of that myself. When they had it in Long Beach a few years back, I waited in line in the sun for an hour. It was so hot that every time I drank I water I sweated it out a minute later(and yes, I did use anti-perspirant). By the time I got in to the dealer room, my clothes were sticking to me. I was so rank at the cel meeting it was embarrassing. This year, I am dressing cool and carrying a can of Axe with me at all times.

Hopefully the weather will be decent for you guys when you arrive here later this week. It's been cooler than normal in this area for the past few days. The weather report at 11 PM predicted long range temps of 80-82 degrees for Wednesday to Saturday.

Traditionally it tends to get somewhat warm right before the Fourth of July weekend, but hopefully not this time. Warm weather is not good when you're spending a lot of time walking around in the direct sun.

Remember to bring a couple books if you're going to be standing in line with no one else to keep you company. I used to bring a backpack with a couple of stiff cardboards in it so that I wouldn't have to worry about anything I bought (esp. cels) getting bent while I was walking around the con.

Very wise suggestion Keropi!

*me thinks I should bring a cd player hmmm*

Im actually going to bring a plastic box to keep the cels I buy
in so I dont have to walk around w/ bulky cardboard box
or flimsy priority mail envelope  /no1

Random things:

1) The AMV contest will not start on time and will not be able to complete
without some sort of technical glitch. Never has and don't think it ever will.
Still, it's well worth it, so go.

2) Before you buy anything, remember the following:
- You're going to have to carry it around until you go back to the hotel
- If you're flying, it's either going to have to be packed risking damage or
you carry it on with you, which can be embarassing if it's something big that
you can't conceal and don't particularly care to be seen in public with.
- If you're flying, you'll have to get it past security.

3) Also go by the Geneon booth first. They tend to have the nicest freebies,
but also the most limited ones.

4) Check the booths for con-exclusive items you can't pick up anywhere
else. For example, this year Toynami has a con-exclusive Sesshomaru
resculpt with a Jaken figure.

5) While taking snacks, books, music players, etc may seem like good
ideas, don't go overboard. You will be carrying them around all day.

Preregistering didn't do a hoot of good last year. Kymaera and I waited for 4 hours in the PREREGISTERED line!!

So I would definitely recommend registering as early as you can.

Wear comfy shoes. Seriously.

Take camera. Use often! Share!

If you want to get into a very popular panel, like, say... Oh I don't know, the one for some nasty voice actor who scribbled his name all over one of Kymaera's items last year :P be prepared to get there early and wait in line.

AX is all about lines, but even the lines can be a lot of fun!!

He was so funny! My friend is all excited about him being back this year. It makes me giggle.

Embrace your inner line.
