I think I'd rather have the "sit down" dinner. That way, people aren't constantly moving around with food. I wouldn't want someone to accidentally trip with a plateful of BBQ Ribs and have it end up on someone's cel book!
Also, if we do reserve this banquet hall, I assume that means it can/will be extremely well lit? Because that would be all sorts of awesome.
JWR: How exactly does the food work? Do we order ahead of time? I've never organized a banquet before, so I'm completely clueless.

I hope it's worth the wait.

2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.

I'm certain we would be able to control our lighting since we will be away from othersReiTheJelly wrote:

How it would work would be that we pick 2 or 3 choices in which everyone would pick from such as 1 chicken 1 beef & 1 fish.ReiTheJelly wrote: JWR: How exactly does the food work? Do we order ahead of time? I've never organized a banquet before, so I'm completely clueless.

Joe,
I too would like to do a sit down meal. I think your selections are good for our group. That is one chicken, one beef, and one fish or other. I still have not heard from the AX committee. I have put in time selections for 5, 6, and 7 pm for a cel panel discussion. I'll keep everyone in the loop when I hear about a room and time.

Update: 04/23
After talking to the Banquet co-ordinator some changes have been forced.
#1 is they no longer offer the sitdown dinner option on weekends due to the amount of food needed to be prepared for a full house.
So we have a choice of an all you can eat buffet with 2 items for $21.95 or 3 items for $24.95 . Now these prices do not include tax or tip.
I called a few more restaurants and this still is the best deal and being accross the street from the Con will eliminate the organizing a car pool like last year in Anaheim.
I need a list of how many are planning to attend for I will have to give them a somewhat firm number in early June.
