The only christmas bonus I got this year was a $100 credit card. So I blew it all on manga. I got a 2 berserk, 2 trigun, the newest Battle Angel Alita, the newest Hellsing, and book 13 of bleach (I didn't realize I haven't read #12 till I got home

)
Anyhoo, I almost cried. I have to say that #10 of the Trigun series has been the best payoff yet, I recommend anyone reads the series to this point.
Has anyone else read this one?

I've read some of Trigun but I haven't had much time for reading comics lately.

Well book 10 was amazing becuase
it is the death of wolfwood. He takes on the hardest battle of his life, the eye of micheal (who is the assasin group who trained him) needless to say wolfwood was given his punisher for GOOD reason. In the 133 year history of the eye of michael Wolfwood was only the 10th person to receive a punisher, a weapon resembling a cross that is given only to their most elite members.
In the final fight he takes on a foe that uses 3 punishers, yup the guy has 3 arms.
What made it beautiful is even though he fought alone he could only think of Vash and how he makes no excuses, he gets the job done and does what's right in the process. It was an ideal that Wolfwood would die for because he believed in it. Wolfwood died the way Vash the Stampede lives.
For those reading the spoiler that will not read the manga, here is a spoiler within the spoiler: Wolfwood died peacefully sitting next to his best friend on a couch overlooking a valley after having a shot of whiskey with him and receiving the greatest reward of his life...forgiveness. Who forgave him? You will have to read that yourself. |
