I just moved to San Francisco for school and after I got settled in, my dad and I went sightseeing. The Asian Art Museum just happened to be having a Osamu Tezuka exhibit. It was incredible! They had examples of his original work from almost every manga he created. Like most westerners I just knew of him as being the creator of Astro Boy. I had no idea he was so prolific and the a lot of his storylines were so "dark." That surprised me since he was the creator of Unico. Anyways, if you are in the San Francisco area, its a must see for any anime fan. The exhibit is there until September. Now I have to get busy reading some of his manga!

The Tezuka exhibition was run in Australia, prior to heading over to you. I agree - it was amazing. As a result I have read most Tezuka Manga available in English. I strongly recomend Buddha. Its an amazing story.

I think it may have already been to LA. From memory, it was going from Melbourne Australia to LA.

The Tezuka exhibit will only be in San Francisco as its only US stop. I saw it in July and really recommend it if you can make it there.

The woodblock prints by Yoshitoshi are also amazing so don't miss that (ends Sept. 2)...considered a precursor to manga.
