Jim Henson's The Labyrinth

Post by sugarcels »

Has anyone read this - particularly past volume one? What do you think of it? Is it worth continuing to collect?

I recently bought volume one and was very disappointed with the poor artwork and such. I want to know if it gets any better :/

You got me soo curious I had to look it up on
amazon and see for myself

Good Lord! You weren't kidding when you said the artwork was bad!
/wah

O_O

Its so misleading! :tongue
The cover is gorgeous yet the inside
is done by an entirely different artist.
:puzzled
Sad thing is, I looked him up online and his American-style
comics are pretty decent... he just sucks royally at mimicking the
anime-sque manga look. :flushie

Shit what a let down!
:bawl
I absolutely adore Jim Henson's Labyrinth!

I mustve seen it at least 10 times and listen to one of the music
tracks by Bowie a week!

:drool :love2

The artwork I saw from it as well...made me very disappointed :(

I dont know if it gets better or not...But if you decide to keep collecting it please let me know how it turns out..

The artwork is absolutely TERRIBLE. Strangely, Jim Henson's "The Dark Crystal" has far better artwork in it.

Yeah, there was a preview for DC at the back of the book. I was all "Why can't they switch artists?"

I wrote some of my feelings on this at my fandom blog: http://adorkable-spinster.blogspot.com/ ... olume.html Considering they have to be OKed by the Henson company before each volume is released, there must've been some loss in quality control since Mr. Henson died :O

Anyway, if I forget to write about it here, if I get volume two I'll note it in the blog.

I've got the first two volumes, and I'm enjoying it for what it's worth. I don't think of it as a cannon sequel, more like an illustrated fanfic. I'm curious where they're going to go with it though.

Oooohhhh Labyrinth manga? Even though the artwork is bad :puzzled , I'll check it out because The Labyrinth is one of my all-time favorite movies. "... you have no power over me"
British, you see, useless. I cannot get the equipment.
