Well, taking a long hard look at the current nominated/seconded list, it seems that there are a lot of goody-goodys! All heroes, or misled/misunderstood anti-heroes…

This list needs VILLAINS!



And who fits this bill better than…. Orochimaru!

With his terrible fear of Death, springing from the fact that this would mean the end of the acquisition of knowledge, his insatiable curiosity is a fascinating and appealing character trait. Of course, that appeal is muted (or maybe enhanced ) by being conjoined with a total and complete lack of empathy, coupled with a shrewd, masterful understanding of human nature, and a ruthless willingness to exploit others' vulnerabilities.



Naruto’s characters existed for years under the long shadow of his malevolence, driven to new heights/depths in extremis.

One of the best manga villains of all time!
