He still has Mange-kyo (sp?) Sharingan left and I doubt he'll die if there is more Obito/Tobi drama to come

I don't think they'll kill him off just yet, but Kakashi's death is actually a subject my husband and I argue about often.

I really HATE to admit it, but I think Kishi will kill him off eventually - just not yet......I hope

The way the story has gone so far and from what I've heard about future stories I don't think any character is safe.

I think Konohamaru's little snotty friend is pretty safe. Also that bridgebuilder and his grandson.

Mark my words, there's no way this guy dies at this point. At best his sharingan eye gets popped with the nail. Which in and of itself produces some great possibilities for plot. It wouldn't make sense to have both him and jiraiya bite it from the same villain. That's my prediction -
