I have NOT been enjoying Otaku no Musume-san lately. I never would have thought that such a light-hearted, fun comedy about an otaku's family would turn into such a disturbingly disfunctional story.

Otaku no Musume-san belongs on the "Light Hearted Stories That Turn Whacked Out and Weird" List. :?

EDIT:

Is anyone reading the webcomic "Tower of God"?

Alright! Cutiebunny is reading Magico and Alyosha. :D

I haven't read the last few chapters of Otaku no Musume-san, but I agree with you, Keropi - it's not as lighthearted as the first few chapters were. I find his lolita-loving neighbor just a *tad* too creepy, and I really feel bad for the little girl.

I'm also reading Mangaka to Assistant-san (I think that's the right title) as well. It's definitely not work safe, but a fun story nonetheless.

Magico hasn't been quite as interesting to me lately, but hopefully it'll pick up during the current arc. I don't think that the fights are its strong suit.

Since the last time I started reading:

Crime Zone ------------------ only one chapter, but that was a pretty crazy first chapter. It was mentally mind blowing for the main protagonist :D
Infinity Game
To LOVE-Ru Darkness ------- Very Ecchi. At least it has a lot more plot than the first To Love Ru manga
Fairial Garden --------------- is REALLY cute
Inari, Konkon, Koi Iroha ---- pretty fun and I like the artwork
Come & Wild Vanilla
Boku wa Beatles ------------- wondering what they're going to do
Fukashigi Philia
Plug: Full Metal Idol ---------- comedy
Shoujo Gensou Necrophilia -- kind of creepy with the sister there 8O
Ashita Dorobou
OZ
Seikoku no Ryuu Kishi
Bonten no Moribito
Kikou Shoujo wa Kizutsukanai
Sprite

Mademoiselle Butterfly ------ is still very good
Last Inning -------------------- is still very good
Tasogare Otome x Amnesia - is still good
Boukyaku no Haou Rolan -----got good again. I love the Pandora Hearts-like artwork
Iris Zero ----------------------- is in between story arcs
World God Only Knows ------- is still decent
Aphorism ---------------------- is still bloody :D

I agree with you on Magico. I haven't enjoyed the House Battle arc, but I do like the introduction of the rival couple. It's about time the story introduced an enemy that could last longer than an arc.

Finshed Kobato and thought the ending was too rushed.
I wanted to know more about Kobato's past that was slightly touched upon in episode 22 of the anime. Also, I wanted to know what Kobato's angel was talking about when she mentioned that if Kobato could make it through this life that she'd be healthy in the next.
I also didn't like the end of "Heart no Kuni no Alice" and "S.L.H - Stray Love Hearts". The first was unsatisfying, and the second was too predictable. What's up with these manga pairing the head character with an SM-type?

Manga-wise (new titles in bold) -

Kurobara Alice
Vampire Knight
Light Wing
Skip Beat!
Bleach
Barajou no Kiss
Blue Exorcist
Akuma to Love Song
Addicted to Curry
Switch Girl!!
Kokou no Hito (The Climber)
Liar Game - The manga is finally returning after a year long hiatus
Mangaka to Assistant-san
Magico
Enigma
Shinobi Life
Samurai High School
Alyosha
Ikigami
Holyland
Two Flowers for the Dragon
Black Bird - Smut!
Sugar Dark - I love Kenji Oiwa's artwork
Wolf Guy -Ookami no Monshou - Good plot though definitely NSFW
Kurogane

Manwha-wise -

Nobelesse (another vamp story)
Dear My Girls ...nice to see Beth (Little Women) get to be the star...
Bride of the Water God
Deliquent Cinderella
Absolute Witch

Natsume's Book of Friends.

Most other titles I was following died with Tokyopop... And now that Borders vanished too I don't have a lot of opportunity to browse for new series. Barnes and Noble just doesn't carry as good a variety as Borders did in my region, alas.

I've been reading the Drifters manga and been enjoying it. I didn't realize until later that it was done by the Hellsing mangaka (Kouta Hirano). The story reminded me a bit of The Lost Regiment novel series.

Description Spoilers:
The Lost Regiment series had different cultures of people from different time periods that got transported to another world. On that world they had deal with what could be called giant man eating orcs. With the Drifters manga, instead of groups of people being transported it's historical individuals being zapped to another world. On the Drifters world the villains are more of a combination between Lord of the Rings and the Fate series villain type.
I've found it to be a pretty fun series so far. I like the dark humor in it.

Is anyone reading Big Order by the Mirai Nikki mangaka?

I didn't know about it until today. The manga seems to have a lot of the same elements as Mirai Nikki only with different character capabilities.

The character's abilities remind me a little of the manga Aphorism. Some people have compared the character's powers to Code Geass.

It looks like a fun manga and it's only just started. :D

I am reading Big Order as well. I like it as well. I wish the releases were a bit more frequent, but, I know what a pain it is to get your provider to give RAWs and depend on translators, Cleaners and QCers to do their part as well.

Yeah, I think Big Order is only monthly right? It's too bad.

The main character is acting a bit like an anti-hero. :D

It should be interesting to see what he does. I can't imagine him leaving Japan if he wants to continue his work. That would be the logical conclusion as to where things would eventually lead. I'd like to read a discussion about Big Order, but I haven't seen one pop up yet. Maybe there's one on the translator's website, but I'm too lazy to check out multiple websites.

And speaking of anti-heroes, I'm getting a kick out of the Ratman manga too:
The "heroes" don't seem to be the real heroes of the story.

Big Order is featured in Young Ace, and I believe that that's a monthly publication. Then again, the translators are from a new scanlation group, so that might also be part of it.
