i got some pita-ten cels of YJ and i'm trying to figure out what they are.
it was a cg series so their should be no production cels........they could be test cels.....or maybe repro cels.....no idea realy.
I was hopeing someone could translate what is writen on their cut bags and on the cels them slef. (writing on the cels is done on a serate layer)
then maybe i can figure out what they were used for.
they interesting, i have the original genga for each....but their are multiple cels of the same shot. 5 cels in the case of the maid otifits that are all the same. some have lazer backgrounds.
repro test cels maybe? or rejects? no idea
so if anyone could translate these images please let me know

They say things about the dresses and eyes.
Actually, if you want a translation, I'm going to need a clearer scan of some of the pics. Could you rescan the cel that has the writing on it without the characters underneath, and give me a close up of all four sections of writing?
These two pictures are a little fuzzy, but this one appears to be pointing out the white parts of her eyes, and this one is doing that and saying something about the trace lines. The pic's too fuzzy to make out the kanji (for me, anyway). Someone who knows the kanji might be able to recognize it and translate for you.

Translation:
"This is R. Comments: Please T P the identical ones into three sheets. Thank you."
Yeah, the circled T and circled P are obviously industry and/or studio specific abbreviations. Regardless, it's directions.

Translation:
"R
Contained within: directions"
Even without translating the notes on the cels exactly, they appear to be painting/xeroxing directions. I would say that these are either color sample cels, or key cels that had directions on how the rest of the sequence should be made. On the other hand, I was under the impression that one grunt did all of the painting, regardless of whether they were key cels or not.

Maybe they were somehow used in the process of making these? Try asking these people.
