Backgrounds

Is there a place where one can get backgrounds? I have a couple Inuyasha cels without them and I would like something. Thanks ^-^

Best place is probably eBay. A standard cel background is 14"x10". Be careful on the size because many of the modern anime have backgrounds that are made for widescreen tv and are shorter and wont fit. If they don't have the size listed send them a message to confirm. Hope you find one your looking for!

yes I agree about ebay, the seller silvrdrago has alot of nice BGs, have fun searching for that just right one!

A long time ago as a service to collectors I scoured the web to find the old RS backgrounds that got lost in RS' upgrade (probably 10 years ago?) and put it up on the net.

I put it up again if anyone is interested to use them.

Only a handful is mine, these are all from RS collectors. I just wanted to make sure they weren't lost into perpetuity. I hope the community is okay with that.

Also that portion of the site goes down at times due to what I assume is bots or web crawlers and I have to clear the logs. If it does go down feel free to message or whatever. I'm pretty easy to get a hold of here or via RS feedback.

That I am not sure about. I know a lot of people do color copies. Its not printed on the paper that original backgrounds are on, but instead on whatever places like Fedex Kinkos uses which is a smooth thin paper. I've never made color copies before, so maybe someone can chime in that has more expertise.

I've made copies of backgrounds at FedEx Kinko's before though it was several years ago. At the time, you use whatever paper they have. I have never tried to bring paper into the store and asked them to print it on that. At the time, it seemed that unless you bought the paper through them (like the stationery sets that they sell), they wouldn't let you use it on their machines.

I've had weird experiences with Kinko's. They're anti-piracy but if you tell them that you drew it, then it's ok. I remember trying to scan an oversized hanken I own using their scanners and they wanted to know details about the image. I ended up having to tell them that I created it and that worked because no one knew who Cardcaptor Sakura was. This was why I purchased an oversized scanner; I was simply tired of having to deal with their staff and whatever issues they had.

Honestly, I'd just be patient and wait until you find something you like. You can sometimes find large lots on Yahoo Japan. I bought many such lots throughout the years.

Just wanted to update on FedEx Kinkos color copies. The closest size there is a 11X17 color copy background. It cost $1.20 usd per sheet at the location by me. Fits into 11x17 itoya folder without issues. You can now bring in a usb drive with the images and print yourself at a machine without an associate having to help which is nice. I printed out several and they all turned out great. Hope this helps.
