Mysterious IDs!!

Post by Celtyrant »

You guys are so good at IDing, but lets see if ya can name the next two.

http://www.celmansion.com/Cels/cels/CelTylor01.jpg

I named the second one Tylor because I know there is a show called Captain Tylor, which I don't think this one is from, but it was like...lodged in my brain. hehe. The top cel is quite old...has the yellowing of the acetate, so could probably be 15-20 years old, mostly likely from the 80s.

The first cel could be from Megazone 23 [1985] but I haven't watched it in years so I can't be sure. If it's NOT from that OVA, it demonstrates a similar style.

Thanks for the IDs, can anyone confirm the megazone thing? Or know character names?

It's actually Megazone Part II, 1987. Character name forgotten.

Sorry to hijack your thread, but instead of creating a new thread...

Does anyone know what show these sketches come from? I don't recognize this character. It came as part of a multi-anime sketch set:

That reminds me of that woman from Trigun but I'm probably wrong. She always had this manly look to her face, lol. :D

Definitely not Merle from Trigun...

For some reason I'm thinking the male lead from Shakugan no Shana.

Edit: Yuuji Sakai

Except that I don't remember his hair being quite that shaggy...

Ok, so I just double checked Anime Encyclopedia and it might well be him. It could be just about anyone, though, including Makoto from El-Hazard! :)

I have a feeling he/she comes from an anime I barely watched any of (like one or zero episodes). It might come from an anime with mostly male characters (esp. a shoujo anime).

Here are most of the anime from the October 2005-January 2006 seasons where the other sketches I received came from:

Akagi
Amaenai de Yo!! second season
Angel Heart
Animal Yokochou
Aria
Ayakashi ~ Japanese Classic Horror
Beet the Vandel Buster
Bincho-tan
Black Cat
Blood+
Bounty Hunters
Canvas 2
Capeta
Cluster Edge
Ergo Proxy
Fighting Beauty Wulong
Futari wa Pretty Cure Splash Star
Ginban Kaleidoscope
Gin'yu Mokushiroku Meine Liebe wieder
Gunparade Orchestra
Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora
Happy Seven
Idatenjump
Immortal Grand Prix
Karin
Kashimashi ~ Girl Meets Girl
Lamune
Jigoku shoujo (Hell Girl)
Lemon Angel Project
Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A's
Mai Otome
Mushishi
Nerima Daikon Brothers
Noein
Paradise Kiss
Play Ball second season
Papillon Rose New Season
Rakugo Tennyo Oyui
REC
Shakugan no SHANA
Solty Rei
Tactical Roar
Ultimate Muscle 2
Yomigaeru Sora - Rescue Wings

Maybe he's just "Generic Male Lead (TM)". :D

Now I'm more convinced that it might be from Shana.

I'm QUITE certain it's not from Akagi!! :crackup Not NEARLY ugly enough!! (and I am mesmerized by this show!)

Definitely not from Beet or Karin... or Jigoku shoujou...

LOL...yes, his chin is not pointy enough. :D

It could be it just comes from an anime that no one wants to say has sketches available from it. :shrug

At any rate, thanks for the suggestions.
