Anyone ever seen sketches from these shows?

A place to post wish lists, ask for help with IDing a cel, screen cap requests, translation requests ... etc.

Anyone ever seen sketches from these shows?

Post by Keropi »

Since several people have asked about sketches recently, I thought I would try also. :)

Has anyone EVER seen ANY production sketches from these anime?

The dates given are when I started looking for them specifically (as opposed to when I used "general" links). This means I've searched from this date in vain: :hurt:

AIR TV or Movie---------------------------(Nov 2004)
Akane Maniax-----------------------------(Dec 2004)
Canvas 1 or 2-----------------------------(?May-before June 22, 2005)
Escalayer----------------------------------(June 21, 2005)
Guren (i.e. "Blood Shadow")-----------(?Jan-March 2005)
High School Terra Story ("Triangle")--(?Jan-Apr 2005)
Iriya no Sora------------------------------(mid-end June 2005)
Kimi ga Nozomu Eien--------------------(?Jan-Apr 2005)
Koihime-------------------------------------(?March-before June22, 2005)
Mizuiro First or Second OVA------------(?Jan-Apr 2005)
Moekan (NOT Moeken :^^: )---------------(?Jan-Apr 2005)
Natsuiro no Sunadokei------------------(?May 2005)
One First or Second OVA----------------(?Jan-before June 22, 2005)
Suika ("Wet Summer Days")-----------(?late 2003)
Wind ~ a Breath of Heart TV or OVA--(?Jan-May 2005)

I gave up looking for this, but I'm still wondering:

Campus----------------------------------(?early-mid 2004 to mid March 22, 2006)

I left out currently airing shows and OVA out less than a few months. It's not a good idea to post about those if you know what I mean. :D

The only production material that I could remember seeing from from anything on your list was this Air storyboard on Mandarake:

And I'll give you two guesses as to why I remember it.....and the first one doesn't count.

How can one tell if Mandarake storyboards are original or not? Do they usually mention in the description if they're original? I'm so used to not being able to afford "originals" that I don't click their storyboard links very often.

Hmm...I dunno. If it's not seemingly the most obvious reason and if you're not into the show personally then maybe...you know who won it or you know someone who bid on it? ?^_^? :D

Bing, Bong! Ashura got it! :yay

I like storyboards as much as the next person, and I've bought my share from Mandarake, but only a couple of times have I ever seen them mention the storyboard as being original. Usually they're in the Zenbu BWA. I just couldn't get over the price on that one. 8O Must be a hellva show. 8)

Heh...I thought that was the most obvious reason so I decided to try reasons two and three. :) Thanks for that link Birdie! I hadn't seen that ending price.

I don't know about that part, but I find ren'ai/bishoujo gamers to be some of the most dangerous people to bid against. Some of them are so attached to their characters they become borderline obssesive. If I see ren'ai/bishoujo gaming products purchased in a bidders YJ ID link I take notice (and hope the bidder won't feel like spending much).

Not that I'm like that. I've never bought sketches showing only female character's heads before. **cough** **cough**

I've been wondering about those. Does anyone know if they are printed or hand made?

Thanks for that link! I hadn't seen them listed together like that anywhere.

I see the Iriya and AIR repros cost 5250 yen each. That's obviously too cheap for them to be hand-made. It's too bad the repros don't look more like their anime counterparts or I else would consider buying some.
