Cel Books

Post by usamamo »

I am not sure if this is the right place for this, I figured it was like a request :P Feel free to move it though mods.

Where the frig do I find cel books to buy? I can not find them here and I really want to store my cels in a neat folder. I am so angry I can't find anything here, I really hate paying crazy shipping costs. But I am in need of a cel book and if I have to pay for shipping then so be it.

So any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

usamamo

Yes like Kira said, you can go to art stores online, or try ebay. But if you have a Michaels craft store in your town they have them as well. They are not labeled cel books of course, they are truly art portfolios but really nice to keep your cels in. I buy black art portfolios with a handle and a zipper that keeps them in pretty much complete darkness when I am not looking at them. They are really nice and have seperate plastic sheets (that are refilable) that you can store cels in.
Hope this helps!

Craft stores and hobby shops have them, basically any place that sells
art supplies (since that's what they are, art portfolios). Container Store
is another place which sells them, possibly for higher prices tho.

I have a really nice spare one, but it only holds
standard size cels, so if you have ant pan cels,
they won't fit. Its Itoya, and holds 48, I believe.

I had some bad experiences with dickblick ... they packed the wrong number and size of Itoyas ... and it was a lot of trouble to resend and change everything + double customs duties :(

Art stores here are far and few between and they are usless as. They don't even have any idea what a cel is! They stare at me blankly when I explain. There are plenty of folders available here but none that are cel sized and they are not acid free or anything.

Gonzai...as if I own a pan cel! LOL!! :P Maybe in a few years I could afford one! Thats funny, thanks for the laugh tho. How much would ya want for your spare (is it the acid free one?)... then of course there that nasty shipping cost :P

Oooo Mister art has heaps and they are acid free too!.....I don't do inches tho.....I am not a fossil! I will ring mum, she is old enuff to know the conversion ... :D hehe

Thanks everyone. I can't wait to have a place to put my cels.
