Very nice. So you purchased it?

It's a cel of Mizuho Yuuki from the Kakyuusei game commercial. Here's a page about her character here:

http://ho.ho.net/kakyuusei/mizuho.html

(pretty funky how the URL doesn't come out :P )

Mizuho was the female lead in Elf ban Kakyuusei OVA (and of the game):

Mizuho appeared a few times in the Kakyuusei TV series, but she didn't have a prominent role in it:
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclo ... php?id=179

The commercial appeared at the end of a lot of ELF game company related anime. I know it appeared on Kakyuusei TV series LDs/VHS tapes/DVDs and/or Elf ban Kakyuusei OVA LDs/VHS tapes/DVDs. Usually at the end after the anime was over, there were a bunch of commercials advertising game-to-anime conversions and ELF games themselves.

Other ELF game-to-anime conversions were Refrain Blue, Yu-No, Doukyuusei (End of Summer), Doukyuusei 2, Dragon Knight 4, Words Worth, etc.

EDIT:

RoboFlonne you figured it out! Shows how slow I am at composing posts. :D

Well you were writing the complete history of ELF and that's good to know!

Were you able to see either anime RoboFlonne?

Or did either anime ("Kakyuusei TV series" or "Elf ban Kakyuusei OVA") air on TV where you live?

Just curious since I've hardly talked to anyone that has seen either of them.

If you're into shounen/seinen romance anime, yes.

But unless if it's one of the big name titles, I've become pessimistic about anyone liking any of the ren'ai gaming shows I watch.

I was just curious as to how you were able to recognize it. 8O

Bishoujo games are games that are centered around female characters. It's a very general term. A bishoujo game could be a majong game, a fighting game, a mecha game, an RPG, an old shooter style game, a text based adventure, etc.

The ren'ai (romantic love) games that were created for mainly a male audience are a subset category of "bishoujo games". Ren'ai games are focused on "ren'ai" whereas bishoujo games might not be. Most RPG bishoujo games are not considered ren'ai games because they don't focus enough on the "ren'ai" aspect. There are ren'ai games for women too of course.

The Kakyuusei TV series and Elf ban Kakyuusei OVA anime were more like slice-of-life, school life anime like say..."To Heart" (to a pick a more popular anime example of the genre).

Some Ren'ai Games include:

AIR
Boys Be
Campus
Canvas
Canvas 2
Comic Party
Da Capo
Doukyuusei (End of Summer)
Doukyuusei 2
Dousoukai ~ Yesterday Once More
Fate/stay night
Final Approach
Futakoi
Gift
Green Green
Gunparade March (apparently had enough ren'ai to qualify)
Gunparade Orchestra (ditto)
Guren (Red Lotus/Blood Shadow)
Hani Hani
Happiness
Happy Lesson
Harukanaru Tokino Naka De ~ Hachiyoushou
Izumo
Kakyuusei TV series
Kakyuusei Elf version
Kakyuusei 2
Kanon
Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien
Koihime
La Corda D'Oro ~primo passo~
Lamune
Marginal Prince ~Gekkeiju no Ohji Tachi~
Meine Liebe
Memories Off
Mizuiro
Moekan
Natsuiro no Sunadokei
ONE first OVA
ONE ~ True Stories
Otome wa Onee-sama ni Koi Shiteru
Pia Carrot
Raimuiro Senkitan
Refrain Blue
Sentimental Journey
Shingetsutan Tsukihime
Shuffle!
Sister Princess
Suika (English title "Wet Summer Days")
To Heart
To Heart 2
Tokimeki Memorial
Triangle Hearts
Wind ~ a Breath of Heart

I think Sukisho was too. Not sure.

Just having H-scenes in it doesn't mean it's ren'ai. If a game has H-scenes, it might only be a sex-centered game. I don't know the Japanese terms for what these games are. I hear them thrown around a lot, but I never use them or remember them.

Bishoujo games that don't focus enough on ren'ai to be considered ren'ai games (they might not have any "ren'ai" in them at all :P ):

Bible Black
Devadasy
Debut
Galaxy Fraulein Yuna
Graduation
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni
Himiko-den
Megami Paradise
Magical Kanan Septem Charm
Mei King
Popotan
Puuchi Puri Yuushi
Tournament of the Gods
Virgin Fleet
Yami to Boushi
Yumeria
Yu-No

I don't know how much ren'ai Demonbane and Utawarerumono have or what category they fall into. I asked on a BBS and didn't get a reply. :shrug
P.s. Oh by the way... I thought you said you sleep when it's 3 am! :cat :cat :cat
I normally go to sleep around 12:30AM to 1:45AM. :)
