Copy Backgrounds.. Does Anyone Remember This Person...???

Hi,

About eight years ago or so.. when Animanga was the place to be...Someone put up a post about custom backgrounds. The customer would send this person a nice screen shot of the background that they wanted, the person would then blow up the image and print out a nice color copy matching background for a decent price. I have searched and searched the Animanga archives but I wasn't able to find the post. I was wondering if anyone remembers who that was or if there is anybody else that does this. I would like to get some matching backgrounds for some of my cels.

I think I know who you're talking about, and I had their website bookmarked at one time. Not pimping myself, but I have digitally repainted/edited several of the backgrounds in my gallery from screenshots, and did a few for friends' cels.

I'm sorry, but I'm not sure who it was. I know there was one person who painted a background (or photoshopped a nice one) for someone's Last Unicorn cel. Like Maiko, I've dabbled a bit in digitally reconstructing the original backgrounds for my cels. I haven't printed them out yet since I wanted to have enough to make it worth printing them out (Canon printers are cool, but are killers on the wallet ink wise).

Thanks for responding ^_^. I wonder what kind of program you would need to be able to take a screen shot, remove everything but the background then print it large enough for a cel? Any idea's?

Photoshop elements allow you to do everything you need. Its what I use at least.

I personally use Adobe Photoshop CS3 to digitally paint and alter my screencaps, but I know it is too costly for people who don't use it regularly for other reasons, but there is a free trial a available. Most scanners and printers come with a somewhat decent program for editing photos or art, so I would check the software that came with yours. Otherwise, a search online should probably help you to find something.
