new online shops

Post by Joost »

I have not bought any cels or sketches in I think 5-7 years, so I think the market may have changed a bit.
Almost all my old links to online shops are death or gone.

Are there any new places I don`t know about? any hidden gems?

Or is it all Mandarake / YJ / Ebay ?

I would love to know if there are new ones I have missed as well.... Seems almost all have closed.

However, I mention since you didn't list him, that Curt with Asylum Anime is still very active. :) Midori as well. :)

I am not so sure about Curt (Asylum Anime) any more. He looks like he gave up trying to set up his new online shop. There are 3 cels only and last updated in 2014.

Supposedly he's still working on it. I buy from him via e-mail, though I do look forward to seeing what he brings to Anime Boston. (I go to Anime Boston every year. ^_^)

Real live dealing in cels and sketches is non existing here in Belgium so I have to go on online shops.
The ones that still exist seem to have still the same cels as 10 years ago ( well, at least in the shows that I`m interested in)

http://www.takamura-store.com/v3/en/ still has some updates :)

I will say that after a long dryish spell, YHJ is becoming more interesting of late. This weekend I indulged in two bid wars over some nice lots (eight in total, all but one contested, all knocked down to Sensei, praise to Tezuka-sama). After a long time of picking off random (but underappreciated) pieces at the opening price, it was surprisingly bracing to jump into a battle situation and find it just as involving as it was ten years ago.

Oh, I did some nice buys in my days, to bad I sold some too, better kept them, seeing those prices X|

Saw that new dealer, overpriced for that quality. Was hoping to find some more new dealers. :bounce

Maybe now it's a good time to start a new cell / sketch business?
