Just got a scanner.... , but realize I have a large number of large cels/sketches that cannot be scanned in entirety. I have viewed the Forum index for help, but I am either blind or computer illiterate enough it is not giving me what I need...
Any advise on what you have used for your large sized cels?
Any help would be appreciated

To merge several cel scans I would recommend to use Photoshop. I tried out lots of programs over the years and Photoshop has been so far the best program to work with images.
I use photostudio that comes free with a canon scanner. There's a stitch function there and the program is simple. Photoshop is a great all in one solution but for the little that I do, the less complicated the better.
Photoshop CS and up have a nice feature called Photomerge that helps you stitch multiple scans together. IMO, Photoshop CS4 has the best version of photomerge yet.
i use simple Appleworks but its not the best program in the world for a newbie to use (its kinda a tricky program but im comfortable with it since ive used it for about 6 years now and i know how to get it to do what i want... for the most part lol).

+1 same here, and if Photoshop had issue to merge there's always the manual way by using a smooth radius of 40px or more on each side picture.

I use the same thing. Mine's an old win 3.1 version, so my file names have to be less than 8.3 characters. But it works really well, and uses a lot less memory than most modern graphics programs.
