I totally love these! Finally, Itoya came out with a multi-ring binder. It's stiff enough to place right side up or spine up.
I also grab some of these:

and add some pre-cut 11x14 mat board and I'm good to go.
Where did you find the mat board?

I just placed an order with the company that you linked to. What was your experience with them? How long did it take before they shipped?

hey duckee,
i find carpe diem to be very prompt with their shipping. the funny thing with them is that if you visit their store, you pay full price. 8O they only offer the discount online. go figure. reminds me, i need to order some more binders as well. :D

the mats i use are called Letramax Black on Black boards 11x14. i get them at a store locally, but Mister Art sells them online:

they're a bit pricey so i just wait for a sale at my local store.

good luck!

Kata,
I called Nielsen-Bainbridge and they said it was acid-free and archival-safe even though it's not stated on the product. The company is known for making museum quality products. The wording on the package says:
"Black through and through, these boards bring out the best of your artwork, photographs, or prints. Mount or mat your work with this extra deep black board to provide the finishing touch to your work."

Hope that helps!

Hey gb

Oh I see! So they are safe! That's good to hear. I'm still debating on how to store all my cels in sketches and make it safe for moving incase of. Right now I use cel books like Itoya and some other type of Japanese cel books. Plus clear file boxes for sketches. I store all in a very dark place, but if we move I need to have a better and safer way of storing my collection. The way of file cabinet or boxes and using backing boards and such sounds to be a way to go for moving. I'm not sure yet! Your cel books look interensting and stronger then a Itoya cel books. I have to see!
Thanks gb for replying!
