Question about selling off collection

Post by Goldknight »

Question for y'all. I'm considering shopping my collection to dealers. I've heard of other people doing this when leaving the hobby. Is anyone familiar with this or how it works? I'm looking to sell everything in my collection.

You should contact Linda (Anime Jewel) who I believe just recently did this. http://animejewell.rubberslug.com/gallery/feedback.asp

Do know going in that a dealer most likely will not pay close to what a collection may be worth for they would need to resell it while making a profit.

:jaw Really?

Certain dealers on YJ take up to 20% from the final bid.
Not sure about some of the other dealers around.

Yes there is a difference between someone selling on YJ for someone and taking a commission and a cel dealer purchasing a collection and then having to sell the pieces over time. In the latter case they tend to give a "wholesale" price leaving room to make a profit which is what they are in business for. :D

In terms of selling to a dealer it's as the others have said GK, expect to be offered a reasonable amount, but only about half what they're worth (much more than that and it's a waste of their time). You'll just have the conveniance of selling everything to one person without all the hassle of ebaying/offer periods whatever.

I'm looking to shift about half my collection soon to cover a rather expensive purchase I've just made...
