Airing out a large collection with no space - a solution

Post by D_Animation »

Hello

In case someone years from now is also in a small-ish space and has a large collection that they want to get some air for without doing a couple at a time, here is how I did it.

What you will need:

Paint drying rack to act as shelves for the cels
Some cardboard slices to give them a solid backing

That's it

I got a paint drying rack from amazon. It has 50 shelves, split across 2 sides and about an inch between each one. I don't use the top shelves since I am paranoid so that leaves 48 cels at a time I can air out.

I also got some cardboard slices from amazon that fit the size of the shelves. These just act act a backing since the shelves themselves don't provide adequate support.

Then I just remove the cel from its old bag, give it a snnnnniiiffffffffffff, place it on top of its new-to-be bag with the painted side facing up, and place the cel+bag on top of the cardboard shelf. Then just slide it in. In 2 days I'll remove them, cut the bags a bit, add microchamber paper in the front, and then tuck back away for 6-8 more months or so. Then repeat for the next 48 cels.
