need some opinions

I have been trying to improve my gallery design I thought changing the colour to white so you can see all the shadows may look better, but I am not sure. All feedback is welcome and the harsher the better

Or maybe just a dark shade of some other color, like blue?

Interesting graphics. But with white BG, the contrast is a lil too stark. How abt grey or greyish blue BG? Or you could decrease the amt of black in your graphics.

I also perfered the black. Try grey or some type of shade. To much white is painful on the eyes

In general, I don't like black or white. They tend to be slightly boring. Too extremes. It's best to pick non-primary saturations of familiar colors. So, instead of your average blue, for instance, choose an off-beat or uncommon hue.

These are just random things to consider. Color theory is essential to design. You want something that's pleasing to the eye, with high contrast with whatever colors you choose for links and text. Textures are your friend, use them if you can. Don't be afraid to experiment.

My final bit of advice: less is always more.

Back to the topic, unfortunately I have little to add at this time. Consider following the drunk person's advice with experimenting with color. However, I think the banners look better & cleaner when the blurred-edge shadow isn't visible.

thanx for advice everyone I tried using a light blue background then a light green, but it still did not look right so I think I will juis stick with the black 4 now.

I wouldn't recommend white as a background color. It makes it look like you didn't put any effort into your gallery.
