When I purchased some of my Sonic and Inspector Gadget cels from ArtToons, they let me put them on "layaway" which was like a little payment plan. It worked out great for me! ArtToons rocks...

There's a set cel budget each month but sometimes that budget doesn't reach the cel I want coz I'm poor like that. :( But payment plans are my friends, I can get the cel I really want and not just cels I mildly want :P I've done them many times on the people I know won't run out on me. So it's been good. I'm on one right now (again).

The only collectible I ever went on a payment plan for was for my Judy Garland vintage signed photo.

...and that was mainly because the dealer offered it to me. I thought it sounded cool (two payments) so I went with it. :shrug

I had to ask him what a "payment plan" was because I didn't know what he was talking about. That was about fourteen years ago I think.

Gawd, a lot of my more expensive cels were bought on payment plan, now that I think of it.

Kudos to sellers who do payment plans, too. :D It helps us get the items we want. I just wish anime-link did payment plans. ;\ I'd be all over them Gunsmith Cats OP cels...

Kaona wrote:I made payments on only one cel in my collection (and still my most expensive purchase). The term was for 3 months, but I paid it off in two-ish. During that time I kept thinking how dumb I was for buying something I could not really afford. :(

I won't ever do that again. Rule #1 to myself for this hobby: No money? No cel! Period. Look away!

Although you might regret it, you'll never get into debt! :)
thats a really good philosophy.
wish i had had that wisdom not long ago. :?

i did a payment plan at a time i really shouldnt have and ive regretted it (well, not getting the cel but regretted spending so much at a time i shouldnt have).

but on the flip side, if you have the money and it would be alittle easier on you, go for a payment plan.
just if you dont have the money to spend at the time, dont (consider your situation is what im saying).
good luck with your purchase! :)

I have never been on a payment plan. Like many of you, I try to stick to the rule 'if i can't pay for it now, I can't afford it'. But then I'm open to the idea, esp if a kidney wishlist pops up :D

I have been on 2 payment plans for 2 cels that I ordered 6 months ago, which was why i put my gallery up for offers for a long while. I am actually almost done paying them off. I just sent the final payment for one of them this morning, and the other one will be finally paid off by June. These are cels that I never even DREAMED that existed! So, when i saw them, I had to get them. They are also BY FAR the most expensive and the rarest cels I have in my collection.

The other items I had on payment plans were the 2 Snow White cels and the Transformers hanken painting.
I was extremely happy to finally receive those in and thought they were worth every penny. It does get hard halfway through, though.
