Congrats on passing your exam :D

I think the biggest "Woo-Hooo!/Yippee" moment was this cel:
http://galexia.rubberslug.com/gallery/i ... mID=197626

Bidding war extended it about an hour or so past the original ending time. It's the most I've ever sunk into one cel, but it is a wish list cel I thought I'd never be able to afford :)

CONGRATULATIONS
Most of my cels I was very excited about wining, but when I first seen this one I couldn’t stop screaming and jumping up and down I was so exited. So this would probably be it for me Yippeee!!!

Fun rotations, huh?
Well, I have had some VERY interesting patients during my family practice rotations. One was this kid who just smoked pot right before entering the clinic (and the clinic smelled of pot, OMG!). Yes, he did alert us to it when we entered the room. Another one was this crazy 65 year old lady who decided to tell me all about her . . . . love affairs and her physical self-entertainment, and kept on following me down the hallway still TALKING about it after I ran off saying "I DON'T WANNA KNOW!!" (seriously, it was just WRONG!). I didn't know people were even capable of doing that, let alone a 65 year old lady! Learning new things everyday!

:crackup

:rollin :rollin :rollin Too funny! :P

I'm sure it will only get better too!

I always feel bad for my doctor when she has a nutty patient in the office, and the ER is always good entertainment! :crazy

Congrats on passing the boards!

I jump at each and every Saitou cel I get to own so I won't pick a cel in that section... However, my one of my real YIPEES came from winning this cel in a blood bath. LOL. It's one of those cels that's been in my wishlist forever and never really thought I'd get to own someday.

Congratulations on your exams! Here's my "yippee" cel:

http://likeabutterfly.rubberslug.com/ga ... mID=205141

Since I bought this cel, I've added many wishlist cels to my collection and a couple of them are a lot more amazing than this one. But it is special because when I found it I was fairly new to cel collecting and it was that first time I ever felt the "rush" that comes with finding a wishlist cel. I bought it from Art Toons at the Motor City Comic-Con. When I found it I was so surprised and excited that I all I could say was "omygod...omygod...omygod" - people were staring at me, but I didn't care! I just love this scene from Chipmunk Adventure, and this is still one of the most beautiful cels I own.

Congratulations, star-phoenix, on passing your boards. I can still remember the knotted stomach, the tunnel vision, the mind stuck on "fast-forward" feeling of my own Ph.D. exams back more than 35 years ago. I hope this rite of passage leads to a fulfilling career of little real-life crises surmounted with graceful effort.

There have been lots of cases, some little yip-yips, some big obnoxious YESSSSSSS! moments. Cel collecting has been very therapeutic during an otherwise hard time in my life. I'll just call out the most recent one, an unexpected "Yippee" moment that didn't actually come until I'd unpacked the box holding a not-very-clearly described miscellaneous batch of cels/bgs from the interesting anime film A Tree of Palme:

Turns out that I not only got this set-up (one of the great moments in this film) but all the other ninety cels (most of them partials) that were used to make this cut. I now owned that entire scene.

Well done for geting through your exams, Star-Phoenix, I'm sure it's worth the efforts now that you're done with them!

There was one Fist Of The North Star auction that got me excited recently. Not only because of the image & characters, but because I was anxious at having to place my max bid in advance whilst I went out. I tend to monitor every auctin I bid on but I returned to find I had won at just under my maximum bid!
I find the sense of victory over other bidders more satisfying that having the actual artwork in some instances. It sounds awlful, I know, it's the one thing I'm particularly competitive about.

Congrats! 8)

I've had a lot of yippees in my collecting days but here's the one that was probably the loudest and funniest yippee of all.

http://envy.rubberslug.com/gallery/inv_ ... mID=145307

Loudest? That's because I couldn't believe I landed such a beautiful cel from such a significant moment in the series. I passed it by at AX after staring at it for a while. I seriously considered buying it but didn't. A week later I contacted the seller to see if they still had it. They did as a potential buyer just backed out. We went back and forth on the price and I got a little shaved off. To date, this is still my most expensive cel ever. :)

Funniest? That's because there are 4 main characters in this series. My favorite character isn't in the cel. :crackup
Can you hear this fangirl squee?!

I miss the yippee factor. Either nothing good is appearing for my interests, I've gotten too picky, or a combo of both (most likely). However, I did have a yippee at winning my first hanken ever at an affordable price: http://ekizo.mandarake.co.jp/auc_e/item ... 8620100002
It's also my first production art purchase in half a year.

My biggest yippees were probably for my Aria the Natural episode 12 sketches or my One Piece Chopper sketches. Not to mention, my Urd cel, Simoun episode 19 sketches, and the list goes on.

Last but not least, congrats, star-phoenix! That sounds like one hell of a test you defeated.

There's a lot of great items in this thread, but unknowingly winning the whole cut for a dream cel? I think you take the cake. :P

I've only had one "yippee" purchase all year really. My interest in collecting from anime from the last year is not good. I think the downhill slide of ren'ai game anime is contributing to my general feeling of malaise. :(

Either:

1. The most highly prized specific stuff I want never shows up
2. I already have something from it so I have less interest in getting more from it.
3. I'm not too interested in the artwork for the price it ends up going for.

I think I would have to obtain one of my few remaining unobtained "Favorite Characters" in order to feel a "Yippee". :)

(Wakana or Honoka from Sentimental Journey, Itsuki from Suika, Misaki from ONE ~ True Stories, Sayuri or Mai from Kanon, Adilicia from Rental Magica and Yayoi from Sadamitsu) But I've sort of given up on seeing anything "decent" of them already.

Here's one of my older sketch "joys" from some time back (Fate/stay night):
http://terencepage.tripod.com/a46344545463.jpg

It helps that Rin is one of my favorite characters and that Kana Ueda voiced her character. :bow :bow2:
