What do you do?

Post by Killua »

It's a situation I've experienced a few times before. I've contacted a dealer looking for some harder to find pieces. For some reason, they must surmise that I'm not very wise in the world, and they present to me a cel available (sometimes easily findable, sometimes not) on another website but marked up quite a bit. I just right now finished replying to a dealer saying thanks for the help, etc., after being presented with a cel marked up $350 from its regular price, but no thanks.

So how do you guys respond in such a situation? I've always been nice and cordial, but a part of me definitely wants to say, "Do I look freaking stupid to you guy? Why would I want to pay a couple of hundred extra bucks to you because you can use Google?!"

Yeah that's why I haven't been torching anything lately. 8) I've no problems with dealers making money, in fact I want them to because it'll mean more artwork will be available for me. :D

I would write:

Thanks, I saw that one already. ^_^

Which lets the dealer know that you are not a gullible idiot, after all (and hopefully embarrasses him a bit)...but still gives him absolutely no reason not to sell to you in the future.

:hurt: I hate hearing stuff like this...

I would just politely decline, stating the cel was more than I was willing to pay, or something like that.

Sorry about the dealer problems. X|
