As a written note to self, I'd like to bring up the idea in January regarding the possible seperation of cels and sketches into individual competitions. So, we could have cels in the fall/winter and sketches in spring/summer.
And, if fees are reasonable, I would like to establish a permanent site for the Beta Awards. What I ideally would like to do is give a contest administrator password for future organizers, and then change the password for each Beta Awards in order to prevent possible tampering. And, in the interim, I'd leave the password with 2-3 different members in the event that I go MIA.

Yes, that's that one. ^.^ I'm the proud owner of it.LinaLoN wrote:Yuri-chan-
Was that the one with young Rukia in the river? I loved that one because of the details in the small movements(Rukia blinking/talking, while the fish jumped, Renji trying to catch it, and the fire burning). I think it's a very beautiful scene and I love what's going on in it. Especially since I'm a big fan of Rukia the flashback episode is one of my favorite episodes of Bleach. Honestly I was torn between that one, the Naruto eating one (what a pain that must have been to scan/edit each sketch), and the Belldandy one.

It's the only Rukia item I wanted. I loved that scene, mostly I figure, because of the simplicity. It's a huge set though, probably over 40 sheets of paper to animate it. I'm all too delighted it won an award.
Also, I agree, all of the entries were phenomenal. The amount of work that went into them all is mind-blowing to me. ^_^

I echo the calls of a great job on the awards this year.
I was quite surprised to win best Creature (who could resist a mama cat with kittens LOL) as well as take a 3rd in the Fan cel catagory with a commissioned piece by Nat B.
Congrats to all the winners and I found it quite hard to make picks between several great cels & sketches.

As always, a little late to the party...
First off, big thanks to cutiebunny & zerospace for putting together one of the easiest and most accessible Beta-Awards sites so far. This definitely should become a base format for all future awards (though looking back, I believe I'm repeating myself
). Very well done.
I had a lot of fun looking at all the entrants and must say that making the final decisions were the most difficult as compared to any of the last Beta-Awards. I want to thank everyone who voted for my entries. Surprisingly enough, I'm actually the most proud of having tied for third place in the "Best Female" category. That was some very stiff competition.
I really love the "Animated" category and hope to see it as a more permanent part of the Beta-Awards in the future.
Congratulations to all the winners - this year it was certainly well earned.

That's a great idea!
I voted "no" to separate them originally because I felt it would be too much at one time, but I think having 2 separate awards is great!

UPDATE!
Hopefully folks will see this... due to some "developments", we learned that the 2nd place Hanken winner was not actually a hanken cel, so ... the hanken winners have been updated to reflect the removal of that entry from the winners list.
So, if you had an entry in the Hanken category, you may want to check the updated winners list here:

The trophies have been updated as well.
Thank you all!
