Ever seen anything from South Park?

Correct me if I'm wrong but weren't the first few seasons made just sort of using drawings stuck together?

Now it's made with computers isn't it? Ever seen any prod drawings from it?

I one time saw a production cel of Cartman on Ebay from the promotional episode (the very first episode). They were selling it for some kind of charity, and I remember the price went for $9,000-10,000. That was about 9-10 years ago.

southpark's production artwork is now created in photoshop and imported into maya. all of the storyboards are drawn digitally, using the cintiq. some production and storyboard artists might rough sketch on post-its or animation paper, but i haven't seen anything like that for sale. most of the artists just throw it away when they're done, or tack it to their cubicles. now a days, everyone has to sign non-disclosure agreements so we aren't allowed to sell our trash. in the 90's, it was much more traditional. wiki has a very crude article on the history of southpark's techniques.

Like Star-Phoenix said, the only time I have ever seen artwork was the original construction paper Cartman that was being auctioned off for charity. South Park is infamous for being strictly cg from about the second episode on, so more then likely there's just nothing out there, other then promotional or charity pieces.

$10,000 is really a lot! 8O, South Park wasn't even that old in 98-99. Sure I saw one of Chef before though.

Yeah you would only have the original construction pieces which have probably never been sold before except for certain pieces.

Only thing you do have on the marker is original film cells (spelt cell for people) from South Park. They are limited edition runs but the actual cels featured are unique and one of a kind, sort of like production cels.
