Beta Sketch Awards for Summer?

I would like to suggest a new catagory - "Tranquility". This catagory would be for images of, say, characters with their eyes closed, perhaps looking very serene, in touch with their surroundings, etc. This would finally give a catagory to the plethora of artwork there is out there of characters who have their eyes closed.

The website is still being worked on. When the code has been completed, at that time, more information will be posted.

Has the category list been finalized? If you give folks a chance to think about their entries before the website has gone online, then there should be less of a waiting period before you can start submissions. Just a suggestion.

We were hoping to get more input on catagories, but, as can be seen by the thread, there doesn't appear to be much feedback.

What about a genga only category for best/brightest colouring or something similar? A lot of genga is so beautifully coloured/shaded, it might make for a good category - even if it's only an optional one?

I agree on a photoshopping category, maybe to allow in one category, or in all. Using the fact that cels in the past have been allowed to be entered, even when the thing has Multiple LAYERS... Some sketches are not lucky enough to be all in one sheet. And some, like one that I have is A1 end, but is in two sheets @_@)

On another note, I was thinking of a "Cross-dressing" category
seeing as I wonder where else it would fit XD

How about a best sequence category. Many of the douga are sold in complete sequences for many of the CG shows. I think it would be cool to see which ones people have. I know it take a lot more work. I have done four of them my self, but I think it adds a new element to the mix.

I don't have a problem with photoshopping in the event that a scene has multiple layers and each one has a character.

I don't know if cross-dressing is a good catagory. Do people have a lot of cross-dressing artwork?

As for best sequence, that's technically the best animated one, right?

I agree on both of these counts. Also, I think cross-dressing might be too specific... getting too specific with categories tends to lower entry rates for those categories, which increases the risk that the category will be eliminated for having too few entries.

I would say if we add a lot of new categories, some of the existing ones should be scrapped ... unless interest in this contest increases in the meantime, I'm not sure there will be enough participation to support a huge category list.

I like the catagories used for the Anime Beta Awards and I like the idea of tranquility/introspection being added.
