What is up with Animaxis' hanken cel prices?

I noticed the Animaxis online (cel)shop for the first time today, while searching the web for Pretty Sammy hanken cels, to see if i could find the one that matches a hanken sketch i got on Yahoo Japan earlier today. I managed to find it allright, but was amazed to see it has a pricetag of $5000 .

Seriously, what is up with those prices? Have they always priced their hanken so outrageously? I'm by no means an expert, but i know i've generally seen Pretty Sammy and Tenchi Muyo hanken cels sell on Yahoo Japan and Mandarake in the $500-$1000 range. Realistically speaking, does this mean Animaxis is pricing their hanken at between 5 and 10 times the market value? Do they seriously expect to sell a cel of Lilica's back for $1900 ? It makes me wonder if they are even serious about wanting to sell them or if they just enjoy dangling those hanken in front of collectors like a tasty looking carrot that remains out of reach.

i remember there being an old thread were poe explained the reason for the high pricing.

basically you'll have to pay the amount that's on the site because the owner isnt budging from those prices.

No one's going to pay those prices. They do have sales every now and then, but even with that discount the prices are still outrageous. If you're really interested in something they have, just prepare to wait for a very long time, because they've been up there for years and years at those prices.

Well said . I do believe they actually have sold a few cels at the sale prices, but that's only when the sale price includes a really really steep discount.
