I'm glad you were satisfied. There's nothing like opening up a sketch set and finding something in it that you didn't expect to get and which blows you away visually.
Overall, I've been more often delighted with what I got than disappointed. And, yes, I feel that the whole is much more than the parts, which is why I've been reluctant to break up sets that could be sold as individual gengas or dougas. That might be self defeating in a collector's sense, as I could keep the ones I really like and get enough cash for the others to maybe get something else.
But it's like breaking up a rare book for the old engravings or maps included. Somehow it seems an act of vandalism.
What did I just buy?

I also prefer full cuts. I like sketches because it shows a lot about the animation process. Separate them and the picture isn't complete any more. I have a sentimental way of seeing it - keeping them together is like keeping the family together. But that's just me.
Anyway, glad to hear this purchase worked out well for you. I have had my fair share of surprises. I try to guess how the sketches would be by watching the animation. This works sometimes. For complicated animation, every one is a full sketch which is awesome. But those are few. The other best bet would be still shots which have full genga and douga.

So I have finally added most of the pieces to RS somewhat. I have posted pieces for the sets but I am unable to add the animations for some reason on RS. I have tried many times. I will have to find another way. It really takes away from the set when you cant see the animation. Well here is the links to the new items. Hope you enjoy and thanks for posting on this thread.

i haven't had quite the same experience, rather the opposite happened to me!
a couple years ago, i purchased 2 "the last unicorn" cels from YJ. the package arrived with a bonus: some copy backgrounds, and 1 original!
this was the cel i was after (i sold the rest, eventually):
