"Like the wind crying endlessly through the universe, Time carries away the names and the deeds of conquerors and commoners alike. And all that we are, all that remains, is in the memories of those who cared we came this way for a brief moment." Harlan Ellison
I liked it because of the radical disconnect between the extremely tragic situation (a character sacrificing his life force to cure someone he cares for) and the rather comic style in which it is presented. I sometimes think that real life has the same kind of incongruity: funny things happen even in the face of death. Good to see the self-sacrificing character at least gets to come back as a ghost (with the same slightly silly expression he had when he departed the vale of tears).
I remember watching the show while I was studying in Nagoya...but never saw the ending. Did it actually *have* an ending or was it like many of Takahashi's shows that kinda keeps going and going and then kinda just stops without a real ending? xP I remember wanting to find a nice shot of Inuyasha when I was into this show. I do miss Yamaguchi Kappei's classic voice.
Great ED cel of Sanosuke! Love the fantastic detail in shading on this one, especially on his hair and face. Then again, would you expect anything less from an ED?
@Rekka- Actually they did give Inuyasha a proper ending. ^_^ The first series ended on an unresolved cliffhanger with Naraku and the Shikon Jewel (just like you said about Takahashi's shows lol), but the manga was still going so they came out with a second series "The Final Act" or in Japanese "Kanketsu-Hen" in 2009 which consisted of 26 episodes to wrap up the last 21 volumes of the manga. So IY did get a proper series ending after all.
