No, I'm sure most of us did care but we're not always vocal about our appreciation. To write congratulation messages to everyone takes a long time and although it's perhaps deserved, it's not practical.Ms. Poe wrote:No one ever seemed to of cared if I posted an update on here or not...so I just stopped. Not worth the breath I guess.
I like to email friends on occasions to acknowledge particular updates and stay in touch and I feel this is often a better way to do things than on a public board where it can appear like 'sucking up' to people or even appear false if it's done often.
I used to make Update threads every couple of months when I made a substantial addition but I don't upload much nowadays because of time restraints, other interests and not feeling in the mood for it. I also agree with what GrayMouser says:
Keropi's post is clever, keeping a low profile can be beneficial- your images are less likely to be nabbed and you will attract less conflict from inconsiderate people who may begrudge you from owning such pieces or make silly purchase offers etc. However, I don't agree that overall, making your gallery public will attract many "negative elements".graymouser wrote:Most of the time, I update only 1-2 cels at a time. It doesn't seem worth the trouble to make an announcement for so few...
The good definately outweighs the bad and I'd prefer to receive more supportive comments following my updates and put up with one or two disagreeable remarks [which actually hasn't happened to me *yet*] if that's what it takes to get some feedback.
