Have you ever purchased a cel from a show you've never seen?
Many of the cels in the gallery were purchased before we ever saw the show. Many of them I eventually watched.
I have seen little or nothing of several of them and I'd love to find them: Bow Wow, Yat Anshin, Super Doll Licca-chan, Muka Muka Paradise, Moma loves Poyopoyosaurs, Cyborg Kuro-chan, Bomberman, Ghost Sweeper Mikami, and especially Tonde Buurin.
At best I have found an opening or a short clip, but I would love to see more. I would especially like to find all of Tonde Buurin, even if it is dubbed in Chinese!

I just did, however, the cel is not for me. I purchased it as a special "thank you" to an RS member who sent back one of the cels that I won through a deputy service that was accidentally sent to her. Although I won and paid for that cel, I felt bad that I was taking a cel from her that was a wishlist cel. Looking around YJ one night, I found a cel that was similiar to the one that she returned. I should be receiving it in about two weeks and hopefully, will send it out to this RS member soon.

My first cel was from a series I never watched, still haven't watched in fact. I knew the character and tot she looked really cute. Being my 1st cel, it holds a special place in my heart (little did I know the ones to come would get bigger and more expensive
).
But generally, I try not to buy cels from series I don't watch because like someone mentioned, the context in which the cel was used matters e.g. important scene etc. The recent exception was my Sesshoumaru cel, I juz had to buy him after reading the manga
Currently, I'm juz selecting epis with him in it to watch hehe
Given that there is always something popping up from series u watch, I would advise you to conserve your money till then

I try to avoid buying art from series I don't recognize to spare my wallet. Nothing worse than buying an unknown which forces you to not bid on a series you do love. You can certainly appreciate and enjoy the aesthetic value of a piece without having seen the series. But for the most part, I venture towards things I recognize, know about and/or plan to watch and just haven't yet. If it's cheap enough, then it's tempting. Otherwise, I'll think long and hard before buying/bidding.

That's how my Daa! Daa! Daa! collection started.
As you can see, it's grown into something more . . .
When I first started collecting, I bought some stuff from series that I had only read the manga to. I still haven't seen all of MMB (those boxsets are just too darn expensive). I try to limit myself now.

Guilty. I have never seen Daa Daa Daa or more than 1 episode of Card Captor Sakura but I have a few cels from each of the shows. I love the Daa Daa Daa ones because they are so cute.

Look for it at the video store.

The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

I have in the past but I try very hard not to. I bought a Gon from HxH before watching the series. I wound up selling him after I saw the series. Even though his design appealed to me, I wasn't a fan of Gon. I liked Kurapica, Leorio and Killua much better. He deserved going to a bigger fan than me. I'm a character collector.
If we're talking fan art, well that's a slightly different story.

You are not the only one. I don't have any specific preferences in that area.

I'm glad you like it. Tell your friends. I would if I had any.
