I do get tired of trying to maintain enthusiasm for hunting down cels for my collection when the sources I previously used have all but dried up. I just don't have the necessary contacts to really expand my collection a meaningful amount. Once in awhile, I'll be approached by someone, but I've basically stopped hunting on my own. Which makes me a little sad, TBH.
I still really enjoy my cels, but I should honestly probably sell about half my collection and pass it on to someone who will experience more joy than myself at owning such awesome animation art.
Do you think you will ever tire of your collection?

Well, back then I would have definitely said I would never ever, but as it stands now I'd pretty much rather have the money than the cels, aside from my Slayers ones of course.
Those Phibrizzo cels are never going awayyyyyyy....

I'm surprised I didn't reply to the original thread
all those years ago but I was in the process of graduating/moving
and starting a new job so doesn't surprise me!
I love my collection... scratch that... adore it!
I'll never get tired of looking at them or counting my blessings
that I have every last one. However, I have grown bored
and so over the hunt for the type of cels I've always been attracted to.
A grade stuff coming onto the market just isn't frequent as it
once was. And the only ways to acquire them is through other
die-hard collectors.
I haven't quit but slowed down considerably
since 10 years ago. I add maybe 1-2 pieces a year now and spend
most of my fervor on my businesses instead.
Though once in a blue moon I still take a browse around YHJ lol

Re: Do you think you will ever tire of your collection?
I never replied to the old thread but it's an interesting question. Looking back, I never thought I'd be so attached to to it, nor did I ever think that I'd be in this hobby as long as I have(10+ years...my how time flies). I still search forums/auctions but it's more along the lines of watching how high an auction will go(such as that gorgeous DBZ layout of King Vegeta, Nekkid Vegeta, and Bardock that recently ended on Mandarake) than bidding/buying. I do occasionally pop open a few cel books and browse through what I have and I must say, it still amazes me. So my answer would have to be no. There are too many gems in my collection that I still adore
.
A few years ago before I moved, I wondered what would become of my artwork should I become incapable of keeping/maintaining it. Sad to say I'm %80 percent sure most will end up in a landfill somewhere which is a shame
