Yep, cutiebunny, you're correct! All you're seeing is the thumbnail -- all the thumbs will be clickable to see the full size image on the entry viewing pages. Right now, only an administrator logged in can see the entries.

A good number of entries are in so far -- most categories have a good start. Do folks want a current count of how many are in each category?

I want to thank everyone for abiding by the rules so far -- especially not abusing the pan cel option

. All entries submitted as of this posting have been approved ^_^ (you will receive a confirmation email of this). If there are any questions, problems, etc ... I don't want to hear them. *laughs* Just kidding! Feel free to PM me if you run into a technical issue with the site, or just post here. I want to note here quick that if you DO receive any error messages during submission, just use your back button to get back to the previous page and try again. I tried to make the error messages pretty clear, so if there's any confusion, please feel free to PM me or post.

And thank you... Rei & Killua. I'm glad at least that folks appreciate my hard work

. Some of these last minute suggestions aren't bad ideas, so I would definitely note them for next year's awards organizers. If anyone wishes to use any (or all) part(s) of the code I've written for this year in the future, these suggestions are definitely doable with more time

It'd certainly be nice to see how many entries have been submitted into each category. Especially since if a category is lacking it might give someone an impetus to submit something to that category. Also, this is my first time really in the beta awards... when do we get to view the submissions? It'd be fun to do it now...

Heh heh heh.. well, this year, viewing and voting are tied together. In previous years, sometimes viewing has been for a short period before voting opens.

Viewing and voting.... December 1, 2008 - December 8, 2008

Though this timetable may be moved up if we don't need the entire time between when submission ends and voting begins. It just depends on if we have to contact folks regarding possible issues with entries.

That reminds me, Zetsuai, contact me (PM is fine) about your entries -- there's a small technical issue with one of your images and I'm not sure if it is the site/server that caused the problem or what happened.

Another side note: Folks, please make sure your animated gifs are UNDER or EQUAL TO the 500 pixel (or 600) width limit! If they get resized by the server, the animation will be destroyed!

If you haven't guessed, I'm handling entry submissions today

. Some things I noticed when checking the awards site email:

1) If you try to delete an image and you still see the old image: Refresh the page, the only reason you're still seeing the old image is due to caching. So long as you upload another image in its place, that will be the image we receive.

2) Read the entry instructions! Entries are NOT being done via e-mail this year. If you do not speak english natively and are confused, please e-mail us and we may be able to help you.

If you have technical issues with the site, please PM me here, I will be able to respond much faster

oh someone emailed me asking of i had the graphics for the awards.

my friend wont be able to do it unfortunately (sorry he works for the navy and theyre really busy at the moment).

i did post here that he wasnt able to do it but i guess noone saw.

'Thank-yous' go out to Cutie and Zero in particular for this event as it stands, great work, girls, it's worked out well!
I appreciate how much work goes into organising this awards so well done for keeping up the momentum on the project for for keeping the tradition alive for another year.

Aw thanks, but really, the bulk of the credit needs to go to Zero for designing such an easy website to use.

(Of course, now that I say this, the bells will go off and we'll have to hit the super secret self-destruct button

)

I updated the front page with the totals of the submissions received in each catagory. I will periodically update with this info, so for those of you who are waiting until the last moment, you'll have a better idea as to the odds you'll have of taking a prize home.

*blushes* Honestly, I'm glad you gave me the chance to try! I was biting my nails last night hoping the site wouldn't crash on me *sweat*

. Hmm.. perhaps I can whip up a page that will auto-update with the latest info ...

(if I do, it'll probably be somewhat crude, but it'll work).

Let me just say that I think the site is beautifully professional looking and incredibly easy to navigate! That was a breeze!!!

I very much like the quick, effeciant website that works so much better than the slow, sometimes not working right ones we've had before. Kudos on all those who helped setting and running this wonderful display of art.

Question- is there still going to be 2nd place winners who receive awards or will it just be first place?

To my knowledge, it'll be the same as last year in that, there will be first, second and third places. Additionally, as with last year, if there is a tie, the parties involved will all receive the same place.
