I don't get many freebie cels... so i've kept the ones I got, tried to figure out where they're from.

*selfless promotion* if anyone's freebies happen to be from Daichi's: Earth's Defense Family... I'll take 'em! Espeically the orange alien animal thing aptly named Weird, or cels of Dai. ^_^

I give them away as freebies when I sell cels/bags. Some nice freebies (well, I think of them more like gifts) that I have gotten from Tenshi ni Narumon and Goldenboy, I have kept in my collection.

Donated some to the art dept at the college here after sitting through part of a multimedia class. I was shocked that the animation processes needed to be explained multiple times for many of the students, thought a visual would help.

FPS??, well this would be one frame : P

I've got a load of freebies I haven't bothered to scan. It never occured to me that they might actually be worth something to someone else. 8O

I recently gave some away with cels I sold and then had to answer a series of emails with "Yes, I encluded that cel on purpose as a bonus. No, I don't know what anime it's from. Enjoy!"

Maybe I'll give it a whirl, scanning the freebies.

I got a Violinist of Hamlyn freebie from someone. That one I like enough to save for sure. I got two cel freebies (if you can call them that) that were on the backs of the Doukyuusei cels that I had already bought without knowing they would be included. I liked one of them enough to scan and put up.

One freebie I entered in last years "Worst Cel" Contest. But most of my freebies are stting in the bottom of my cel drawer.

I have the usual freebie suspects - Mosquiton, New Angel, Sins of the Sisters, ?Virtual Fighter, Tenchi, You're Under Arrest, black and white Santa, Pia Carrot 2/2 DX, blonde guy with dark gray hat (seen him before somewhere), ?Tuxedo Mask in a crystal douga, brown haired boy wearing a dark blue school uniform with a yellow square on his collar.

Say...what's the name for extra cels/sketches you get in cel sets that you don't want? Extras? ?^_^? I have a lot of those too.

I call them freebies too, because I was actually paying for just the one I wanted!

Oh what a great idea!!

It doesn't surprise me that it would need explanation -- I took an art class last summer and for my final, had to do a brief presentation on "something related to art." Oooo, hard choice. :P So I resurrected a little brochure I had done for a different class, on how to collect cels, and turned pertinent parts of it into a quick Powerpoint.

I took in the cel I had used as an example because it had the concept sketch, timing, roughs, and finished sketches along with the cel. You wouldn't believe how many of these ART MAJORS (which most of them were) had no idea what I was talking about at first and just ogled those things.

Hmmm. I may now have to talk to my art prof. I wonder...

I was thinking about the people who "burn" their freebies as useless trash and the thought of one of my dream cels being burnt by someone who considers it a freebie popped to my mind.

Then i did a little review of YJ auctions for "expensive" cels that i would consider a cheap freebie if i ever received it. Here go some:

http://page9.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/k17140600
http://page9.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/k13616833
http://page10.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/m13418016
http://page8.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/h26516589
http://page5.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/e46275902
http://page12.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/p11069147
http://page9.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/k17133568
http://page7.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/g5729363

For all of you who are already screaming, that's the thought i got when i the thought of my drem cel being burnt popped my mind. And if i chose those ones it's because i own many freebies, and some of them resemble the ones on those auctions.

So... what should we do witho our freebies considering other colector's feelings.?

A few years ago I thought I'd try to find out what shows they came from :o ....but that never happened!

This thread got me off my monkeybutt, so I took the time to scan them and post in my gallery.

I don't like to have them shown in the gallery for aesthetic reasons. They will not be up for too long.

Long story short...it would be good to find out what shows I have cels from and maybe watch the anime. :?
