I really don't think it matters where you live, actually.
Midori trusts people everywhere - that is the kind of
person she is. I don't think this will cause any problems
with Midori selling to anyone, however, she probably
won't be as trusting anymore, and I seriously doubt
that she will ever mail anyones things out again before
she is fully paid. Its a shame someone had to go and
break her trust. :l

Yikes! That had absolutely nothing to do with my comment. I'd never
judge anyone that way and didn't mean that. I see now it sounds bad but
I honestly didn't mean it that way. There's jerks everywhere. The location
isn't important and neither is his nationality. I sincerely apologize for how
that sounded and didn't mean to offend anyone.

I was just clarifying the specifics of this one particular incident. I was not
attempting to generalize or make assumptions. The facts are one thing
but it's not because he's asian or from the UK. I did not mean that
at all and would never think such stupid things. Ugh. Again, I'm
incredibly sorry if my comments offended anyone.

after being a collector for years, it breaks my heart to hear about this.

i don't know midori, but from what i've read, she sounds like an incredible person and a wonderful dealer. so, midori, if u are reading this, i just want you to know that there are people like myself who support you and look forward to more deals from you. i, for one, am glad there are collecters like you in this community. :)

Ack 8O ,that's terrible and to react that way /wah Midori is the one of the sweetest people I've worked with and it's upsetting to see her treated this way. I can understand maybe not being able to come up with funds but if that's the case why not simply mail the order back?! And then to act like it's her fault for being trusting, gaaaah! Not to mention selling the stolen goods. All I can say is this kind of behavior makes me really sad, and hopefully he's prevented from displaying said goods. I can't see anyone knowing about his actions and willing doing business with him again at all, so if nothing else he's lost all trust. :shrug

That's horrible that someone would take advantage of any seller, especially one as nice as Midori. She is a class act and doesn't deserve this type of treatment :( .

In my honest opinion, I don't think WC attempted to stigmatize anybody at all especially considering her "Not that it matters..." sentence right after the clarification. She was simply clarifying the location of the buyer as the UK, since the previous poster seemed to have thought the buyer was from the USA. I don't believe there was any stereotyping at all implied

Thank you Ralphy. That is really what I was trying to say but I feel like
such a bone head when I look at how it might've sounded. :(

Wow, what a disgusting human being. He is actually blaming Midori for trusting that he would complete the deal?! How can you blame someone for doing an incredibly nice thing?! I have never had a dealer offer to send me my cels without full payment first. I hate it when good folks get taken advantage of by garbage like this. These people are the reason why cel dealers have to jump through hoops to stay afloat. It's like when Ed got his cel book stolen at last year's AX. They don't deserve that.

As for WC's statement, I didn't see anything wrong with it. I think it was just a case of being a little too sensitive. If you know Toni, you know there is no way she can be biased toward an ethnicity or a nationality. I rip her for being a Texan all the time, and she takes it very well. :P

Wow, I know a lot of worthless people but this guy is the biggest (pardon my language) douchebag I've heard of in a loooooong time. It's her fault for being a nice, trusting person, so it's okay to keep the stuff he didn't pay for? :x

I think we all need to start adversely possessing his lawn.

Looking at what I said It does look like I was offended, but I was not offened at all :D . sorry if I made a little uproar I know that this cel community has some of the nicest people on the net and WC is 1 of them.

This topic is just a shocker to me as that person added me to his msn the other day and I spoke to him for a while about cels and the guyver. He is the first person I have found who lives so close to me (about 50 mins) and its just very dissapointing to find out he has done all this I was planning on trading with him :(

well well, what do I all hear over here.
This guy saw my gallery and offered my to buy some Naruto genga from him. So he sended me some pics. I thought I saw those pics before, and indeed, they where from midori's site, He just stole some pics and offered me those genga's, at a much higher price, to me. So probebly I was going to pay his genga (one was indeed that genga shown here).

I told him that I knew that he was trying to sell me genga from Midori's site and that I did not like his way of working.

after much blah blah he offered me to buy just one sketch. I did not buy....
but he bought some sketches from me... he already payed but I have not sended it yet (bit overtime because of different reasons) ....

should I still send it? or should I wait until all this is cleared out...???

I am so angered and disappointed by this whole situation. It seems like in recent weeks, people have been bemoaning the death of cel collecting because of a few ripe egos and a couple of others getting more attention than others think they deserve- when things like THIS are going on. THESE are the real things that bring down the morale in cel collecting.

I have done plenty of transactions with Midori in the past, and she recently helped me accquire a wishlist cel by letting me do a layaway plan. I was completely shocked and delighted when she actually sent me the cel- and I still owed $500 on it! She sent me an email so there was no mistake- she was trusting that I would pay such a large amount on good faith alone. Remember, Midori isn't the 'Bradford Exchange': while other companies have all your credit card information on file, they can safely send your items after only one payment- unless you close your credit card account, they can keep charging you until whatever you owe is paid. Midori is sending items out on the good faith alone that you will uphold your part of the transaction.

Personally, I was so extremely humbled by the huge amount of trust she had shown to me, that of course, I promptly paid in full by the time I had originally agreed to pay off the item. For one, I don't want to ever risk being backlisted or becoming a 'fugitive' in the community by ripping someone off, but two, I just could never do something like that- especially when someone has extended such kindness by being so flexible and accomodating for my benefit.

I hope this louse doesn't ruin it for the rest of us. I'm sure that Midori will be more cautious these days after dealing with such an insidious person. It's obvious that by extending this kindness, she at one time trusted this person. So from her point of view, who's to say that any one of the rest of us that she has trusted before might do this to her sometime in the future, too? While it would be sad for the rest of us, I can completely sympathize with her.

These are the kind of people that need to be weeded out of the community.

You know, that is totally up to you. I just know what I would do. I don't think I would fault you no matter what you decided.
