When I receive offers, I generally respond by letting the person know that, should I choose to sell that cel in the future, I'll be more than happy to let them know. I make an annotation in the 'private' section of my website for those were were interested in the cel and that's pretty much it.

I'm honored that people send me notes about my cels, even if I have no intent on selling. The fact that someone appreciates your cels enough to take some time to write you a little comment about it is more of a compliment for me than something I would react bitterly to.

Unfortunately, some people don't take it so well. A few months ago, I sent an offer on a cel and the next day, the owner decides to post a really nasty comment in their blog about how low my offer was. While I felt that was pretty tactless, I was happy that I had undershot what they wanted...why pay good money to an arsehole like that?

All in all, I don't mind if people send offers...just don't be upset if I refuse. And the same goes with me offering on cels that you might own - It's perfectly fine if you say "no"...just have some manners and don't rant about it in your next blog entry.

I have to say that people who put NFS or ANFS on their individual cels should not be surprised if they get offers. I know way too many people with galleries peppered with those abreviations that sell them anyway. Usually when they use both NFS and ANFS what they are often saying is "the NFS ones are for sale at the right price". I don't write people with unsolicited offers, but I have occasionally told people that I admire a particular item and not to forget me if they ever decide to part with it. A few times I have had an oportunity to buy those cels later on. As for unsolicited offers I recieve, while I state that everything isn't for sale, I have made a few trades on cels that worked out very well. :)

I've noticed that same trend Vapalla. It seems that NFS and ANFS is sometimes
an indication of the cels the owner is willing to part with for the right price.

I used to place those markers in my gallery as well because I saw others
doing it. But I ended up removing them all because I honestly don't like
selling any of my collection. A NFS marker suggests that some cels are more
important to me and others are expendable. I buy to keep and while I do
enjoy receiving emails/offers, I have never accepted a single one.

I've only sold a handful of cels, early on in my collecting. You can see them
all in the Zapped! section of my gallery.

4 were impulse purchases
3 were purchases for someone else
4 were freebies I sold for profit
