Do you post your full gallery online?
I have most of the collection online. I have been accused of hoarding, but in a (I hope!) joking nice way. I put them online because I like the fact that people can learn more about anime in general by viewing the art and Rubberslug allows any viewer to study the artwork in depth. It's like a big anime museum! Since our collection contains art from series that few people collect and extensive collections of certain series, it seems wrong to hide it all. I try to add factual info on the art so anyone who is interested can learn more about the series represented. By doing so, I am pushed into learning more about the items I collect. It is true that posting some series has caused others to emulate our collecting habits and I have created new fans for some series and thus new competition for the cels/sketches. I still feel that putting it all out there is the best thing, and I'm glad that some really good but overlooked art is being better appreciated.

all or none
lol
you guys are hilarious jokesters! *i vote for a full one*
i voted "yes" because I really don't have much to hide at this time^^. T
there have been two occasions where I almost decided to hide some arwork within my gallery for the same reasons as some of you all have mentioned. however, i went ahead and placed these two on display.
but, i try to make a full effort into gallery updates and most of what is on display is in my cel books. [except for any new pieces i got in and my M9 genga].
right now, i am debating whether i should keep one particular new piece private though. it's beautiful and i love it--but i may need a second opinion about its forthcoming display. i really enjoy the thought of being apart of a big anime museum and studying each other's artwork in depth too as a way to appreciate and preserve a piece of history--one cel at a time.

and explanation of the benefits of having an online gallery for cels.
I whole-heartedly agree with you. I can understand everyone's personal
choices and reasons, but what you have said just now is exactly why I
enjoy displaying my own collection publicly.

Cel gallery online
Hi everybody,
I have to say "no", I don't put everything online although 90% of all my cels are online. I'm just way to lazy to scan many of my sketches so as far as my collection; about 50% is online.
Sometimes I will scan some of my genga if somebody asks about a series, but other than that I don't like scanning sketches that much. I admire all those collectors that do scan sketches especially if they take the time to scan all of the set and make them move. My hat is off to you for taking the time and energy to make it more enjoyable for all of us to view. If I do scan a sketch it's only one of a set that I have. I've never scanned more than one or two sketches from the same set. I will admit that sketches definitely have their own charm to them. Before they stopped making animation with cels, it was always "I want only cels"; now I like sketches as much if not more than cels.
So, thank you to all the collectors that take the time to scan their sketches as we all enjoy looking at them.
Sincerely,
Linda

all or none, continued
thank you toni-kun!
I can be a bit lazy too and not scan a few things or update things that should have been done a while back. But, I do try and make an effort to post most if not all everything i can^^.
I think the most important ideal is that we are all making some sort of effort.
