Also, I see to remember that quite a few cels last year were watermarked, which is a dead giveaway of who the owner is. Many of us that have unique cels/sketches will be easily recognized - there is no hiding if people know you own an A1 End, or something like that. :D
I think my memory of hidden cels stemmed from a conversation that took place in the RS chat room. Several contestants decided to hide the cels in their gallery till it was over, me included. It was my fault for remembering it wrong. Ah well. I'll probably submit things from my offline collection anyway, just for the enigma factor. :)

There were water marks? 8O That just seems so odd. Doesn't that cause some kind of conflict during the voting process?

This is my first Beta Awards, and I'm eager to submit entries, but I have a quick question:

Do I have to have acquired the cels this year?

Nope, any cel you obtained (as long as its yours) is great ^^.

^No problem.

Alright after much debate I decided why not throw in another submission! This makes my 3rd and last one. I can't wait to see what everyone else is submitting.

I'm going to ask that folks make one email only from this point on. I've had people send in two or three emails to fill their five cel maximum. Think about it carefully, then send in your submission.

Also, remember to keep file sizes at around 100KB. I've had to resize several images already. It isn't for my benefit, but many people use dialup and don't want to wait a minute for an image to load.

'Masculine bishonen' is an oxymoron.

bishonen = pretty boy
masculine = muscle

Whatever. I don't care. Look up the definition of masculine...

Of or relating to men or boys; male

That's all. No mention of muscles, chest hair, pecs. Just male. So, I think Bishonen "pretty BOY" falls under that category.

Thank you so much Brian for all your hard work and dedicated time in getting the Anime-Beta awards up and running and on its way. Many people don't even realize how much hard work goes into something that may seem simple, but when you are running the show by itself, it's a futile and difficult task.

Just wanted to say thank you for taking the time out of your already busy schedule (since I know exactly what you are going through with work) to do this for the cel community, whether or not others may appreciate it as much.

Well.

Scuze me for asking. I was out of town for a week on a piss-poor connection (when it would connect at all) and didn't have a chance to scour the back-posts.

Actually, that's a pretty good argument for small image sizes ;)

I'm guessing everyone feels that it all goes without saying... which is why it isn't said often enough. I doubt there's anyone here who doesn't appreciate the enormous effort. /no1

As promised, here is an update about categories that are filling up fast. Remember, there is a 25 cel limit for each category.

Masculine - 23
Feminine - 19
Sadness - 20
Couple - 18
Funniest - 21

And here are the categories that have not met the required three entries as of yet.
Hanken - 1
Mecha/Robot - 1
