I personally don't use cotton gloves on cels or sketches, but I do wash my hands very thoroughly before touching them. And even with that, I would only touch the regions around the registration holes.

I rarely touch my cels as it is. But if I have been given the opportunity to buy cotton gloves, I would do that, and would recommend that people do use gloves when handling cels.

:rollin :rollin Oh, well, kittens. Judging by the poll results so far, maybe your husband doesn't deserve that rolled up newspaper, after all.

The Doctor : … and then, just to finish off, I’m going to wipe every last stinking Dalek out of the sky !
Dalek : But you have no weapons ! No defenses ! No plan !
The Doctor : Yeah ! And doesn’t that scare you to death ?

My Bugs-Bunny gloves are right alongside me and I use them 90% of the time when handling cels, as that's not quite "always" I voted the next one down ;)
Gabe, I doubt even you're Gorilla hands are too big to fit into these gloves, they come in one size and they're not too small. Still, if you were concerned, it's best NOT to keep them on for too long in case they restrict circulation and you have to have them AMPUTATED!

I've never worn gloves when handling my cels. But I do treat them like photographs and only handle them by the edges.

I must say that I was quite surprised when I purchased my Ghibli repro cel. Three employees wearing gloves took it out of its box to show me before I purchased it. O_o;

I don't wear gloves to handle my cels. Then again, all my cels are in cel bags, and when I do touch them, I don't touch the painted areas.

Not only do I not wear gloves when handling cels, but now I'm tempted to
lick one and post a picture of it just to see if I can give kittens a heart attack
from the shock :D

I have to add to the count that don't wear gloves, but are very careful, wash hands before and only touch the edges or by the holes. However, if I see some gloves to buy any time soon, I will probably get them.
