Yep, he is a grade A genuine ass. I could go into detail with one or two amusing email exchanges we've had, but I won't. It seems the people here have nicely summed up his attributes when it comes to dealing with people. He did win an auction from me a while back and never paid up. He really does owe quite a few people and should be in handcuffs.

Well, I think it's nice that he's trying to clean up his messes... but it's going to take more than apologies for a lot of people.
Obviously one of the BIGGEST things you can do to wrong cel collectors is to not send them the cels/money you've promised them.
There is a huge trust broken there.
Regardless of if he banned people for disagreeing with him or not or whatever, that is a big no-no.
Al never did anything wrong directly to me... I simply followed my friends. When they quit posting on Alpha, I went to where they WERE posting... and helped to build a NEW place for all of them to come together again!

Another HUGE flaw with Alpha was the degree of censorship going on. Swear words were cut out, and people's posts were deleted either for content or whatever reason. Well, SHIT, FUCK, PISS, GOD DAMN!!
That IS his right to do on HIS site... however, people didn't like that. They don't like to be ruled with an iron thumb. That is NOT how you encourage a community to grow!
Allison and I built this site based on NON-CENSORSHIP and NON-BANNING! We don't delete posts; we don't ban users regardless of their opinions. That is the way that the user community wanted it. They wanted to be FREE to express their opinions and we gave them a place to do so.
In my opinion THAT ALONE is a LARGE part of the reason that Beta thrives right now. People (hopefully) feel comfortable posting here. And for that I'm very happy!!

Everyone is welcome here, including Al if he ever decides he wants to join.
If he WERE to join, I’d hope he'd start by replying to posts such as the ones in this thread.
I'm sure that he'll take quite a bit of heat up front, but he's got to realize that in order to clean up, he's going to have to face those flame posts at some point... and hopefully move past them once they happen... and, from the opinions previously expressed, it WILL happen! He's got to realize that he's not going to be able to sweep the past under the carpet. He's going to have to face it if he wants to be a contributing member of this community again!
He needs to take his spanking, let everyone vent a bit and then hopefully he can clean house and we can all move on if he makes good on his promises of making things right...

Again, I think it's nice that he wants to clean up his mess, but he's got to realize that just saying 'sorry' isn't going to cut it for a lot of people. Actions speak louder than words. And it sounds like he's TRYING to take action. I just hope he realizes that it's not going to be easy.

...and, once again, I'd like to thank each and every member who contributes to this forum, good, bad or indifferent. It’s what makes a community like this so much fun to be a part of!

PS. as far as the image stealing, I believe we may have swiped about 5 emoticons, or so, from his site by popular demand. Or SOMEONE did and sent them to me... dunno, I had so many emails with emoticons coming in that I have no idea where they all came from. And to be honest, I was on Alpha such a SHORT time that I hardly even remember... but then again, I swiped emoticons from a LOT of places myself too... I think we have over 90-some emoticons... oh, well - such is the nature of the internet. So sorry!

As far as image stealing, none were stolen to make up the design on this forum. Smiles were taken from various place, but that was it. The layout is a standard layout for boards. Colors scemes were created by the admins of this board and logo's as well.

Al I have no problem with you. But you must understand that sooner or later you have to pay the piper. All of our actions make up who we are and yes we all make mistakes, but we must take responsibility for them and learn from them. It is what makes us who we are, who we were, and who we are going to be.

Some of us get there sooner than others, but it is the journey that make the man.

In other words follow through with what you have said about correcting your mistakes, be a man and and show courage by stand in front of your peers and taking the punishment they will give you and after all is said and done, and don't get me wrong it will be hard, very hard, maybe the hardest thing you have ever done, but then after all that... you will then have to win over everyones trust again.
(This is the top of your mountain that you have to climb)

At least then you will have saved face and you have shown that you have some honor left.

So, with that said and done, What path do you chose?
