Hi all, just wondering what have been the highest priced Ghibli cels you have ever seen for sale? Everyone knows Miyazaki cels are unbelievably expensive but why? I have never seen any of his films, and I know I should if not just for the beautiful cel animation but, I fear they will be too cute for me to justify watching them
I know he is considered the Wallt Disney of Japan and his films are box office smash hits but does that justify over $17,000 for a 'My Neighbour Totoro' cel?' That's my highest priced Miyazaki cel which sold on the last Mandarake BWA what about you guys? I know the current highest record sale for a cel though a cel from the finale of 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit?' sell for $50,000
