Show me! Eternal love! what does that mean to you? Kiss?

Post by RoboFlonne »

What is your Definition of Eternal Love?

Is it love that is true even if it requires deceiving the one you love?

Is it love the of a mother, parent, sibling, or friend?

Is it the love of your significant other?
To me Eternal Love is the Love that never ends... A love that not even death can take away...

The Sacrifice of your own life to save the one you love!

This is Kurou realizing that Al Azif has sacrificed her life to protect him. Al Azif is an immortal Mystical book that has watched her masters die, one after another, but Al Azif realizes that she loves Kurou and sacrifices herself.

Flonne has been turned into a Lily (that white flower in front of Laharl)

This is Laharl as he gives his last request.... " God... If you're there... Take my life in exchange for Flonne's...." I'm not exactly sure how Laharl loves Flonne... but it's really really a happy and sad ending. Because the reason Flonne sinned and therefore died was because she trusted that Laharl was able to love. And it ended perfectly because Laharl's last wish was one of true un-diluted love!!
Show me ETERNAL LOVE!!!

It can be small things like giving your loved one your ice cream because she dropped hers.

Love that never dies :)
It is never ending. No matter how much it hurts your love will never die.

I love this concept of Eternal Love. It can mean so many different things to people.

I got a tatto written in Czech saying Eternal Love when my grandfather died, he was from the Czech Republic and I got it because I will always love him and all my family. The eternal love I have for my family will never die, I will always remember.

Like I said, it can mean different things. I love my family different from how I would love a partner but both are undying and forever, making them eternal.

So that's what it is for me.

To be able to share everything, including your darkest parts, and still you can accept the person who truely is. I think this is love to me :) :)

I would not (in person) sacrify my life to the person who loves b/c it would be very hard to the person who you love. It would be very painful to the person who you love. So I will never sacrify myself :) :) (I would choose Kaoru over Tomoe :) in RK)

A love that puts the loved one’s interests first, even when that loved one’s heart longs for someone else.

After 28 years of truely loving only one person, even
though hes been gone for 18 years - this one is easy.

Eternal love is soulmates - in both life and death.

*Warning Sailor Moon Spoilers Are Here*

I'd like to add that love could last through two lifetimes ^.^ And even when your lover has been murdered by an evil alien Sailor Scout for months without you knowing of it!

To me, the idea of 'eternal love' doesn't stretch to the attraction between a man and woman, but I think the strongest bond is that of 'brotherhood'.

Gonzai's banner of Samurai7 reminded me.

Bushido sums this up, 'The Warrior's Way', focusing on honour, loyalty and respecting everyone's place in the world.
Guys looking out for each other who all have a common goal; this lasts for life and is something I appreciate.

Within asian mafia films, war movies and the traditional samurai way of life, this theme is remarked upon a lot and is very potent. It's a belief that has shaped my thinking and an ideal I hold dear. It can be seen throughout my cel collection too.

I don't think I have anything that really depicts eternal love. But my definition of it is love without restrictions. Two people who truly love each other will do so eternally irregardless of what happens along the way. No matter what, even if you have a falling out you still love each other even during those times it would really be far easier not to love them. And that can apply to Lovers, friends, and family.

I found one sort of that touches on all the types of love

http://acetateaddiction.rubberslug.com/ ... mID=108585

Hokuto & Subaru fill the family requirement (and she looks os cute on his shoulder)

Subaru & Seiichiro Fufill the lovers

And Hokuto & Seiichiro fufill the friends

though honestly al the love represented in the piece is best understood if you're familiar with the Tokyo Babylon Manga

RoboFlonne wrote:usamamo how do you say Eternal love in Czech!
Along the lines of Vecna Laska, I can't put in all the extra bits that belong ontop of the letters, but thats basically it.

Oh I found a cel that depicts a part of love...the pain and sorrow, because there is no love without those elements.

My submissions on Eternal Love:
Ranma chooses what's best for Akane over himself, and Akane chooses what's best for Ranma over herself:

Toya chooses Aya over what was most important to himself - his memory of who he is:

And one of my all time fave's - giving up your heart's one true desire for what's best for the one you love:

Actually, he's really choosing what's best for someone he doesn't really know: Takaya (rather than Kagetora)

Eternal love for me is that which exists between a parent and child.
An unconditional bond of devotion and honor. I find this love immortalized
in the relationship between Daisaku and Robo. Daisaku's father created
the giant robot and entrusted Daisaku with the wrist watch controller.
At the moment he bestows the watch to young Daisaku, the father dies.
Daisaku's cries of lamentation are what activate Robo, almost as though
the father's spirit lives on within the robot whose sole mission is to protect Daisaku.

How terribly unromantic of me, I know.

Neat! Thanks for that explanation, WC! I'd kind of wondered what the storyline was behind that show. :)
