The Longest Journey

Post by Startyde »

Helloes,

Something happened today and though I try and keep quiet in recent times, I was so overjoyed that today might have been a life changing experience for me (cel wise)

Now, if anyone has had the absolute pleasure (relative) of doing business with me, they know that I'm courteous, great with emails and vocab, and a slow shipper. I mean slow. Deadly slow. The combination of an inept postal service in a small town and my own work schedule equals people who buy from me getting great, amazing cels...after a wait. Sometimes, a long wait. Krafty has felt this first hand. In fact, I believe he is still waiting for cels. Hmmm...that reminds me. They're on their way guy (hi5 thingy)

Anyway, not to make this sound like a confession or begging for redemption, I just wanted to point out the irony in it all. Today, like, just today, a package I ordered in May of 2003 finally arrived.

I was like wow, that's awesome. Talk about patience. Did I forget about it? No. Did I lose faith? Nope. I trusted the person enough to know that one day, someway, somehow, it would show up. I was just surprised that it did. Almost like having a kid really (not at all....but) I mean, you know they're coming, but it doesn't take away from the surprise when they do :P

So yay to that, and a big thanks to all of you out there with patience and forgiveness in your hearts to realize time seemingly ebbs and flows, but it all works out in the end.

Happy (soon 2 be) New Year all...

Jon=-

That kind of reminds me of the stories of letters written & sent from the front during WW2 suddenly being delivered during the late 80's .

When you get that item scanned , give us a link so we can see what was worth the wait.

LOL, cheers Jon! I know those cels will come, my only concern is that if you say they will be sent on a particular date, I get concerned when they don't turn up within a month. Makes me imagine they were lost in the post and that's an unpleasent feeling.

Glad to hear that your package arrived after 3.5 years, must be an amazing package for you to get excited about.
So, I wonder if it's an event that'll bring you closer into the cel circle again? Would be nice to see you around more often!

Thanks for the replies all.

The cels I received are cels I have had listed for a while, as was my trend back in the day (ie, when I paid for it and was told they would be sent, I would add them to my gallery). After a while though, over a year, I hid them fearing that they might not actually come in for quite some time, if ever.

Now after all this time, closure is so very sweet. The harada cel has immaculate detail, and the Devilman lady is just gorgeous.

Woo Hoo! Congrats on FINALLY receiving those cels. You know, I have some cels I've been waiting for since May or June ... and, still no sign of them. I was about ready to give up ... but this thread gives me hope. Thanks for that!

By the way, all of those cels are gorgeous, but that Devilman Lady one is just ... HOLY CRAPPOLA WOW!! :OMG

Congrats again!

Wonderful selection of cels, Jon! Aside from the Devilman LAdy cel with thoose cherry-red eyes and the detail of Harada's desk, I really like the comedic shot of both ~Harada and Kurokawa resting their heads on one another and the KITE setup of the young girl. THAT is such a key shot!

Congrats on the acquisitions and it's a testament to your overwhelming patience.

Geez . . . the longest I ever waited was one month . . . and I started getting nervous (it wasn't the seller's fault, though). I'd have given up years ago. X|

That's really cool though that you finally got the cels!!!
