Animegame list hacked?

I was wondering if I was the only one receiving an email saying that it's an update from animegame (even if it doesn't look like theirs) and then when you open it you find spam?

I received the same emails. I just briefly read them but didn't even pay attention and then deleted them, lol.

I don't think it is hacked. The email that is sent out is part of Yahoo Groups. I believe we are all members of that group if you recieve those emails.

If anyone of us replies to an email, it is automatically sent to everyone else.

At the same time, anyone of us can start a topic that will be sent to every member's email account. So unforunately, some jackass decided it would be just an awesome idea to start using Jason's update titles for his own personal benefit.

Leave it to the scammers to resort to something like this. Luckly Jason can kick them out.

I think it's the way Yahoo groups are set up. If you're a member, you can send mass emails to people in that group. I remember receiving spam via Anime Game in the past, from people (bots, most likely) trying to sell weight loss pills and other junk.
