Shopping Mall Japan

Post by Aoi »

Er, I seem to have missed something, as a visit to the page gets me an error (as though the server did not exist).

[geek mode on]
Google shows a version of the page cached from September 11th.
When I do an nslookup of the server name, I get a SERVFAIL error rather than an NXDOMAIN error, which usually implies something really seriously misconfigured on the DNS end.
[geek mode off]

1) Did I miss some announcement?
2) If not, can someone reach the site? If so, can someone please punt me an IP address to try working with?

Tell me a story.

Enough about me, let's talk about my dress.

The error that I get is:

Server not found
Firefox can't find the server at shoppingmalljapan.com.

It's pretty immediate.

What kind of computer are you using? I'd like to, if possible, get more network information from you.

Okay, what is it today? Strapless? A little black number, or something with stripes? I hear stripes can be slimming....

I'm using a recently fried HP Pavillion. We had a lightening strike a couple of days ago. Maybe that's endowed it with super powers, but I have no trouble getting to SMJ's front page.

I don't see any problems with it either. I'm able to get the page up and log into my account with no issues.

SMJ current IP: 216.139.233.117

You might want to check with your ISP, since the primary difference between your connection and any of ours would be that you'll be using your ISP's DNS servers to resolve names to IPs. Either that or manually enter a different set of DNS servers for your computer to try using and see if that solves your problem.

It is working for me now.

Looking at what I'm getting out of dig, I'm wondering if there was an issue getting answers from dns.netnation.com. Before, I wasn't getting any answer for requests for the host's A record. Manually dumped the name cache and forced a lookup, but was still getting nada.

Thanks, zerospace, for the IP pointer.
