I need to smile - Show me...

Post by kizu »

Okay so the Dow's been down for the 8th straight trading session with historic free falls and the value of financial institutions are just going to the crapper. It's not looking good in general and it's a time to make sure one has emergency savings and what not "just in case". I've been very harrased the past three years with uncertainty in the markets and when I thought things couldn't get any worst, they do. Oh I'm not in trouble, I'm just -tired- of it all... Be that as it may... When I look at my cels I get this comforting feeling and they always make me feel better.

So right now I am requesting to see your "personal best", your "holy grails", your "dream cels", your "ultimate wishlist". The cels that keep you in the hobby through thick or thin. The last cel that would ever leave your collection if push came to shove. I hope I don't sound too depressing. LOL... I just really need a "pick-me-upper" and this was the only thing I could think of at the moment. Make me smile. :)

And thank you in advance...

But the others in this section are too:

I've been trying to get anything of him for the past few years, and lost EVERY single auction....Then I got him for X-mas last year from a good friend.....Imagine my shock to find that not only did my friend win ONE, but got a BUNCH o_0....

I freaking love this character, and if you go to any other Rb gallery, you will find that there is no way in heck that they will sell you their Athruns....

Roboflonne - Yes I think I'd have a bit of trouble too talking in that situation ;) PM is the best way to contact me or e-mail. Hehe. The Dow will eventually go up, sadly though damage has been done for others. But yes your photoshop skills made me smile. :)

Moonrabbit - Actually recently I have been visiting your gallery and oggling all your Athruns. He was one of my favorite characters as well. But as you see I don't have any but maybe -someday-. :)

SYAN - absolutely beautiful escaflowne and fushigi yuugi cels! I remember the day you posted your update on FY, how proud and happy you were. They are a joy to look at. :)

Interesting. I see. Have you ever had but maybe -someday- ?

"buy low, sell high" Today was a buying day for me.

Everything's on sale now, buy some shares you like at a deep discount, that might make the market easier for you to cope with. Here's my cel pick:

I hope things get better -who ever wins the presidency, I truly hope that they can help this country rise up out of the slump its falling into.

As for personal favorite, it's a tie for me.

A very nice collector on here allowed me to purchase this a while ago and I'll always be very thankful for that ^_^ Tylor has a rather special in my heart as it is.

*hugs* The Dow will pick up eventually. :) I was having stock talks today too. I guess it's just on everyone's mind right now.

I have a top 10 section that displays the last cels that will ever leave my collection but there are many more I won't let go of too. However, due to the whole story behind getting him, this Inuyasha deserves being pointed out.

Inuyasha

And I would be a horrible collector if I didn't point out a wishlist I never claimed as I thought there wasn't a chance in hell to get it.

The promise

You got that right! :) My love for Athrun is going on 5 years now. It took me forever to find and land the Athrun sketches I do have. Label those puppies as going to my grave with me.
Can you hear this fangirl squee?!

Metheus - Yes a friend of mine is a contrarian and that's exactly what's he's doing. I don't have much to lose on stock actually but it's just the stress of being in the middle of all this crashes that's getting to me. I'm glad it's finally a weekend. LOL. That's a very cute cel of Sammy and Ryo-Ohki by the way. :)

pixie_princess - Hi there. All I can hope for is whatever slump america is in right now, is that it passes by quickly. I like the Hanken Mono quite a bit and at one point I think most girls have seen Sailormoon. Both very nice cels!

sletia - Ah you probably would understand very well my obssession with Saitou Hajime (coz of your adoration for Phibrizzo). LOL. I've never watched Slayers (or rather watched only a little) so out of your Phibrizzo I thought this one was your favorite. http://sletia.rubberslug.com/gallery/in ... mID=185024

duotrouble - Yep it's in most people's minds. I know a couple of people who are retiring this year and the next so it's really sucky for them if the Dow doesn't pick up as fast by the time they chose to retire due to their 401K losing it's value. As for the cels, I think they take on a different meaning to us especially when there's a very interesting story of acquisition behind them. Congrats on your Inuyasha... And that TB cel is nice... I know what you mean about the fight at X1999, hehehe I never really got that either (I need to watch TB).

Ah, yes, well, while he looks wonderfully evil there, in my holy grail he has WON. He has TRIUMPHED and the end of the world (which all mazoku want) is nigh! He is in his complete and powerful glory right there.
I just pretend the last minutes of NEXT never happened. He won. :(
EDIT- Though that cel you linked to IS my most expensive cel, ever.. lol.

LOL. I didn't really notice the price ;) Well the wonderful thing about having a cel collection on a specific character is you can tell other people about your favorite a bit more. Just like how you explained this cel http://sletia.rubberslug.com/gallery/in ... mID=238060
