Has anyone here had correction layers made for any of their cels?
A new pretty just arrived with BADLY faded lines.
I would like to know everyone's opinion on correction layers the pros and cons as well as where I could get one done. Thanks for your time!

I don't have any cels with uniformly bad line fading, but if I did, I would buy some acetate and an art-appropriate pen, and make a correction layer myself. Or, if I were feeling particularly uninspired, I would commission a good fan artist to do the work for me. I can't really think of any cons to adding a correction layer (after all, a fair number of cels come with studio-made ones); just be sure to store them separately, as you would any other multilayered cel setup.
Disappointed as you are, it seems to me that you'll get a lot more enjoyment out of your new cel if you have the opportunity to see it in all of its original, pristine glory.
I can't see any cons to getting one done, as long as it is on a separate piece of acetate (I've got a few cels where I can see that someone tried to redraw lines on the surface of the cel itself! ). I'm personally paranoid enough that I'd probably keep it in a separate cel bag as well.
If you find anyone good, let me know. There's at least two cels that I own that I'd like to eventually get fan-correction layers for.
