I have to say they look fairly legit to me. I have seen several rough genga's that look similar to this. Granted these are fairly sharp but after seeing countless thousands of genga lol. I have to say they look fairly real to me. But who knows.
EDIT: I just looked at chidori's hair.. that does look a bit to sharp.. So now I am second guessing myself heh.

The Three Laws of Robotics:
1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

Re: Anyone else think these are fake?
They look genuine to me. They are represented as "rough genga" rather than douga, and that can mean lots of things. Sometimes roughs can be really, really rough, no more than an outline of the figure with eggs for heads. And while sometimes roughs are done on studio paper, most time they're on whatever the artist has to hand. (I have roughs that were done on the back of discarded paper from a completely different studio from the one that did the series in question.) Sometimes the cut numbers are indicated, mostly they're not. And as working drafts they can sometimes get pretty wrinkled and smudged.Silvrdrago wrote:not on studio paper, low quality drawing, all portrait shots, no cut numbers, too clean looking

The first one in the lot seems a pretty typical working draft, with the head close to finished but work still being done on the torso and hands. It probably would be cleaned up in the next drawing stage. The second one actually looks pretty clean as is and might be a finished genga. Or it could be a rejected one that was done over. The last one is an oddity: outlines as if it were a douga, but blank eyes, which would suggest a second layer with the pupils and highlights (perhaps a "glimmer" effect).
I've gotten a miscellaneous batch of sketches from Sasami: Magical Girl Club that included a similar mixed bag, ranging from rough work-up drawings to fairly finished gengas to (I'd guess) discarded or rejected dougas. So I'd say this lot was genuine, too.

You know...it never fails to amaze me how many times I keep running across better and more efficent ways of searching for auction items. Every year I stumble onto something else.
It makes me kick myself since I should have been using it from the very start. I wonder how much stuff I've missed when it was really hanging right under my nose. I just discovered something else last week.
